my budget ford fiesta mk 5 hybrid 2.0ltr turbo
I purchased a mint 1.3 mk 5 ford fiesta in sliver from one of my friends with Zetec s bumpers and side skirts
then after i while i i found a set of rs2000 wheels and got them freshly painted by Dave at county car sprays i
also fitted a set of 60mm lowering springs and she was looking good then after little while i bust the
head gasket in the winter but it was only the water jacket to outside the block so after 3 months of
toying with ideas i decided to to go with a engine upgrade my mate dave had a mint mk3 Mondeo estate
turn up form his other halves uncle full service history and all it really needed was tax so me and Dave being
who we are decided to take out the 2.0l engine and put it into my fiesta so we took out the broken 1.3 engine
and rough fitted the 2.0l to see if she will fit after a few body mods and engine mods we know had a 2.0l engine with no
power steering no air-con a rs fiesta flywheel and clutch and a 1.3 endura gear box we spaced and modded the engine mount and
gear box mount so she was sitting level, manged to get our mate Matt who is more then a dab hand at electronics
to wire up a mk 2 pre pac system ecu and wireing loom she had a few running problems but they all ironed out and dave fought
we might aswell use the mondeos brakes for my car to say buying uprated parts and dave set about making it happen and she
was built. After 4-5 months i had melted 2 clutches, but one night i was driving her and bang the drive shaft escaped
the cup and put a sizable hole in my sump dumping all her oil everywhere after getting dave to tow me home we started to think,
all 3 of us joked about using Daves spare turbo parts to build a all ford hybrid this was just the spark we need to start the fire.
so i left my poor fezzy at home took her engine out and bought it to county car sprays ( Daves workshop ) and Que the music.
a full strip down new internals a few bits from ebay and Daves spares bin a trip to the RS centre some hoses from graham and

I got front a rear arches from another fez that i cut off :P and I'm Gunna flare out my original aches and then weld the other aches on so they look original but and extra 1" 1.5" wide with spacers on wheels to give it a bit more stance

and with the lip back on n primed
Not perfect yet needs a little more smoothing but looks waaaaay better than standard. only regret is I effectively raised the distance between the wheel n arch as i slit it and then hammered it out and upwards. so atm with no weight in car it looks jacked up lol. but coilovers will sort that.

it was a swine to smooth them. if i had choice to do it again id fab a whole arch before fitting it n then just weld it on with minimal filler. but if i get hit in the arch then its gonna be messy!!!!
