Lucky man having that given too u! It's a very early 5 speed judging by the interior and stripes. The 4 speeds had check interior and the injection wing badge are part of the stripe.
My dad had loads when I was growing up, join up on www.capripower.co.uk loads of info and parts over on there.

Cheers for the info lads! Yeah its needing a lot of work but im up for the task! My brother works for bmw as a spray painter so the finish will be like all the other jobs hes done for me in the past, pristine!! Its obviously going to require some welding but after having a few rusty escorts its not a problem the plans are to get it back to its best and original!!

I wanted a capri as my first car when i was 17! went and seen a guy who had one local that i used to pass on my pushbike every wkd lol 1.6 laser and the guy said he was after 700 quid for it, happy days! went and asked my parents who said no because of it being rwd so i had to settle for an rs bodykitted onion with 16e leathers! roll on 11 years and a capri has found me instead of the other way round

The single number.

But it could be the CRS means 'Capri R S'

the fewer the numbers the more it's worth and the letters could easily mean something to someone, initials or company name or something..

I had JCK 9W on an old bike of mine, wish I'd kept it..

Same here, i have my own that reads my first name...

But i still think shorter plates look better then the full 7 digits, especially with cut down plates too.
