Off the shelf ready to go mate, all I advise is that we get to do the bigger power ones in house so I can personally check them before and after and also tweak the map on a custom basis if needed. Same price £359 for the map

Yeah I'm sure we can sort you a deal, the intercooler is the key to good power on these though so you will need one, they suffer from high charge temps quite badly, our cooler works perfectly!

Just the map and a decat downpipe should see 280bhp 430-460lb/ft torques on a 330d. Adding a cooler and a full 3" system should see 290bhp 490lb/ft. We have done a couple now.

I wouldn't put any more than std boost into the map with he std cooler though, I tried on mine and the results were shocking
That said diesels don't need more boost generally for a good remap unless you want the extreme

Going mad with the exhaust can make them feel a little flat low down, I prefer a compromise and mine works fine on the oe system. I will try a system on it as development but I think turbo noise will become an issue for me.

Some guys run them with the back box bypassed with a straight pipe

That would do my head in lol.

as a std car i find it quite quick down low but really runs out of puff higher up. im not too bothered about turbo noise. i quite like turbo howl on a big diesel

Thats mental figures, i'm lucky to get 33 mpg urban in the Golf - their must something wrong, i found the exhaust was blowing at the rear joint to the CAT so that was all welded and it seems to be worse on the mpg gauge but the fuel seems to be lasting longer so i'm wondering how accurate this gauge is, i'll have to try and get it down at some point for a check over.

Here's the new E46 320d 60mm core Intercooler kit

Name: 143eaa25bf84b92a5a752be7680f07f3.jpg
Views: 370

I've just ordered all the parts for a big winter service on the old girl, with new glow plugs, belts, thermostat, a pair of rear wheel bearings to get her ready for another winter.

Going to pressure wash the underbody as well to keep it tip top.

Wheels are coming soon I think I'm going 19"

I am really tempted by a 997 Porsche though, so I'm not sure if she will stay next year.I've got an itch I need to scratch, will be nowhere near as good an all rounder as this beauty though.

James, will the egr valve removal pipe be a straight fit on a 330d?

Yes I will do one, but it does need the function removed from map as well to prevent the eml flagging an error

You can also remove the EGR function from the map and leave the valve in place, it just stays closed.

Im pretty fed up with the driving standards up north, ive had so many close calls having to swerv to avoid people! so, I've just ordered a carcam which is pretty cool!

It's a tiny camera you mount on the windscreen which will automatically record while you drive, the one I have ordered also plots your location and speed via GPS, and shows the g force applied as well as being in full hd

You can just leave it rolling automatically and never touch it, unless you need it, hit the tag button and it saves the file
handy evidence if for example someone drives into you. Revenge will be mine
Also I have all the required cable to connect this to the aux channel on my tv head unit, so I can watch and review the recordings in car.

what cam have you bought James? We have RoadHawks fitted in all of our trucks,
Excellent kit and I have considered fitting one to my car,
Plots your route and auto saves events such as impacts and so on,
Uses GPS to show your speed, how hard you brake and so on, All in HD aswell

Sounds a similar thing, the model of mine is the v1000gs, I chose it as its very small and doesn't have a screenfitted, as I have a tv in the car

The road hawk is quite discreet, Once fitted behind the rear view mirror its hard to spot,
It also doesn't have a screen, its uses a SD card which makes it easy to down load onto the office PC and view whats been going on,
You are able to set the camera up so it shows the vehicle reg on all the data and so on.
Really good pieces of kit, Its the RoadHawk dc-1 we use. very small

That's one of the best buy I've ever done (not the same equipment, tho). Have been running a dashcam on my car for the past 2 years. It's 100% reliable witness in case of any accidents!

Well worth it if anyone is considering of getting a Roadhawk or similar system (see link for my review if you want to know more about it)

Fuck having anything in my car that I hand over to a court which shows what speeds I have been doing on GPS I'd sooner get blamed for an accident that wasnt my fault.

New intercooler looks good

I can turn it off, or even put it on a 3 minute loop, even turn the speed off, it's fully configurable, but tbh the most of my weekly drive is just a commute to work averaging 11 mph

Hi James,

Nice work on the car! I have a few questions surrounding DPF's .

My e60 has covered 45k now, it'll get driven on motorways mostly and sometimes around town/shops etc. Is it advisable to remove the DPF for a remap or could it be remapped with it left on. I can't stand the idea of it chucking out smoke with the DPF removed (btw does yours smoke heavy?)

Many thanks in advance!

The Remaps work well with the dpf in place still. And at least if you are doing plenty of motorway it shouldn't clog up too much.

We can map them with the dpf on it no problem, but it does sometimes limit the fuel we can add,

Mine doesn't smoke at all, I wouldn't let it be like that, it's still less than 1/3 the limit on the mot smoke test too

Just ordered the intercooler today. Does it need anything extra to fit it? Next step will be to get the car along to you guys either the end of this year or begining or next year for a re map.
