Default Rear Arches for 2WD Saff

Hello All,

I need to repair both my arches on the cossie as you can imagine the curse of ford has sunk its teeth on them. How is the best way of getting these sorted, is getting a panel beater best to get these repaired. (Ive been trying to get doner arches but not has no luck). Has anyone does this, and is this an expensive job?

Any advised would be greatful

Andy

Cut rotten metal out and replace with new metal is the only way to stop the tin worm spreading mate.

Any good bodyshop should be able to do it, chances are that you will find some rot on the inner arch too once you have removed the outer skin so that will need sorting too.

Cheers Big Ern,

I went to one body shop and they said to me to get donor arches as this is a better way, sounded odd to me. I thought making new arches was the better way.

(I dont know if im allowed to ask, but does anyone know are there any good body shops that will do this)

You can buy arch panels mate, no need to make your own or buy 2nd hand ones. Or at least you could do a few year ago when I done one of my old Sapphs. I think they were about Ł16 a side.

Where abouts are you? Your location says London but you have a Newcastle badge in your sig, are you down there or up here?

as above, when i did mine they were about 15 quid a side, inner arch will probably need repaired too, this is usually done by making up small pieces from scrap steel, i got my outer panels from brown brothers

I'm in London BigErn. I have family in Newcastle but live in North London. I've been on the net till the point my fingers were bleeding from the keyboard searching. I've been on so many websites trying to find out what I can do but I've hit a wall everytime, Is this something I would get and take to a body shop. Sorry for all the questions. This is the best help I've got up till now.

Thank you guys.

Neil is that you mate ?

I have those repair panels but the rust I have is on the curve just under where the door latch is. That's why I was told it would be easier to get the arch.
