Sierra sapphire dohc turbo technics.
Hi just thought i would share a few pics of my saph project.
it started of as a base 1.8 cvh model with only 12tho miles one owner from new car. kept in a gararge all its life .
I also got hold of a 4x4 cosworth that was involved in a heavy front end smash and then left in a field for 7 years causing it to break its back from rust.I stripped it to a bare shell then changed all the parts over to the 1.8 . full wireing loom .full interior . and all the running gear abs ect. cleaning and tidying all the parts as i went . unfortunatly the engine took a alot of impact in the smash breaking the block and berrying the vavles into the pistons. then some one removed the plugs and rocker cover before it was parked in the field hence the twiky engine
more pics will follow when i sort my camera out . hope you like

such a rare kit to have , only 52 TT kits ever made iirc. they use a t2 turbo and a 5 injector with its own ecu ...cool wee kit ...if you add lower comp pistons you can run some decent boost !
who did you get the comp plate from ?
cheers and good project !

A few small updates to add . ive had a bit of troubel with the brakes on it . the fronts were only 260mm discs and callipers .and rears were 240 solids .so i bought cosworth front and rear discs and callipers of a guy on hear !! to hopefully fit straight on this is after refurbing the xr4x4 callipers to what you see below .( going to have to do this agian now to the cos callipers)
then realising the the front and rear hubs were diferent so i have had to source some of them aswell but this has turned into a dear job now after getting kind of ripped of on the discs and callipers and haveing to buy hubs.
idealy i would of put 2wd brakes on the front for the 4 pots but had already bought 4x4 coilovers before i new that you couldnt swap and change bits of 4x4 to 2wd
have allso started to change the colour on the roof lineing and piller trims ect sorry about the quality of the pics (camera phone)

You had this a while? I seen it over on FSOC before. Got one hell of a slam on the back end! What exhaust is that? I never seen a coupling like that before...

"I ran a Turbo Technics conversion for about 4 years. The engine itself is standard, just a drilling into the sump for the turbo oil return and the fitting of an overboost switch into one of the intake manifold legs. The compression is standard. It ran a 5th injector in an elbow bolted to the front of the throttle body, this was driven by a Digital Control Unit, taking a timing input from the coil and a signal from a 2 bar MAP sensor. The ignition was permanently altered using the octane adjust plug, all 3 wires were grounded (even though one of the wires raises the idle speed and didn't need to be done). Very importantly, there was also a frequency limiter fitted to the original MAP sensor on the car. This prevented the standard ECU "seeing" a boost figure as it would drop into Limited Operating Strategy. In this LOS mode, the injector pulse duration and ignition timing are fixed, the engine would detonate to death in a very short time if this was allowed to happen while on boost.
Finding a full kit is like finding hens teeth, Turbo Technics converted 52 cars in total. The full kit consists of the following items,
T2 turbo
Exhaust manifold
Downpipe
Intake elbow with 5th injector
Overboost switch
DCU with GM/Motorola 2 bar MAP sensor
Frequency limiter
Wiring harness
Intercooler
Boost pipes
Turbo inlet pipe from standard airbox
Oil feed adaptor
Oil feed pipe
Oil return pipe
Sump oil return adaptor
Fuel line T piece and hose
Vacuum T piece and hose
Octane adjust plug and shorting wire.
I know the system inside out, having stripped it off one car and fitted it to another one as well as making various modifications including building a new DCU when mine fried itself."
which now means im more confused than before lol if its a t25 its a different flange to a t3 ?

I had mine up for sale on the fsoc but decided against it due to I know I'll never get another complete kit again, honestly they are so so rare . Btw on the subject of the turbo mine is a tt154 that's what's stamped on both the metal plates from turbo technices . If its a t25 then it's the same turbo flange as a t28 meaning its a different flange form a t3 you would get on an rs turbo which is strange because I heard that's a good conversion for them
