friends dad asked me put this up for him ,its his car to add his collection ,top bloke always lets me use his unit , shell was in a mess been stud for 10years or so in a garage last fella had bodged a few things so took lot longer to sort than he had hoped ,i will be helping out on the build up were i can ,did some welding repaires and the cut out for radiator ,rest been done buy his BODY GUY who dos all his cars ,

anyway few pics ,its a genuine mexico shell ,roof came off for one with out sunroof

this is the door skin that was sent out for body guy

as you can see its as bad the old one ,3 skins later and job sorted




roof on needed some work on corner were bit dented




all etched up ,as reoxide isnt so clever




i kinda missed taking some pics in primer stage




i did the inside so it could be masked up the following monday for the painter














as you can see the bubble didnt get painted as i removed the vent above as was minging in there and blow some white paint in before welding back on


masking up for 2k diamond white base and clear
































after paint she went out for a bake in sun day after












and just one remind how bad it was





its sat waiting for polish ,and the black parts doing by his painter body guy motty ,then it will start getting built back up ,with the 1600 engine ,rs2000 back axel ect ,hopefully in time for lakes tour ,there is another mk2 sat in unit thats his sons needs a lot more work ,but have get his rst finished first ,looking forward to welding it for him ,comments welcome will update as they build it up

Great prep work look's like you put a lot of effort in to it

 

all i did was rad cut out and repair under bubble an few small bits ,motty did the rest ,as for wide aches his sons will be as the rear aches are rooten

rite update time every one been busy last week or so on this ,thing is every bit needs cleaning up and painting ,still missing few parts but hopefully she be done in time for lakes tour,engine has been striped and head geting freshen up ect ,few pics
