Our 2.5" exhaust
Everything is tig welded and mandrell bent to maximise flow.
Excellent clearance despite the the big rear arm's
Very straight so flow is excellent for the turbo. Equal or better than some of the 3" exhausts we've seen.
Actuator takeoff on "push fit" fittings and kept as close as possible to the turbo
Airfilter extension as the filter was larger than normal
Nice cool air down here, also note the "screamer downpipe" and hot side intercooler pipe
A flow simulation of the Civic Exhaust
Bumper had been cut for the previous exhaust, so we mounted ours in the same orifice.
Last picture before injectors were fitted earlier, car is been mapped to 300hp tomorrow then back to the customer who i'm sure will be very happy.

It looks fantastic, really OE from the outside which I like.
Out of interest, what bits are fitted to the conversion Ricky? ...and what sort of cost is involved for all the bits, including mapping??
*Edit* ...when does that turbo make 1bar and full boost??
Cheers,
Grant

Are you joking... 1 bar! its not a ford
The car does 10psi to make 300hp. 1 bar is generally around 330hp.
It makes full boost at 3400rpm's 5psi by 3000rpms. Holds boost till the limiter and makes peak power right on the limiter. The powerband is fantastic. They have more power than n/a from 2000rpm's upwards.

You seem to know your stuff when it comes to Hondas mate. Mind if I ask you a quick question? I have a 2000 Accord 2.0 SE Sport. I love the car to bits, and it does everything I could ever want as it has adaptive suspension, L.S.D, fully kitted up etc. It makes the perfect cruiser but also a fun car in the twistys.
My only issue is the power. SE Sports come with 170hp (Mainly head work) from the factory, and with the higher rev limit compared to the 145hp models (8200ish RPM if I remember rightly) it means that they aren't exactly slow. However, I would love to have some mega power. It won't be happening for a long time yet, but I was planning to supercharge it. My question is how tunable is the F20B6 Engine, and what kind of power could I expect if it was to be supercharged? IMO, If Honda managed to get 35hp from Headwork (Cams/Valves are from Mugen apparently, but I don't entirely believe this.), then surely there is room for more?
Cheers if you can answer this, and sorry for rambling.
Also, good job on the Civic! It looks lush.

A supercharger is driven by the crank (obviously) this means its speed is directly proportionate to the engine RPM. Like most things, especially air compressors, it becomes less efficient as the RPM's increase... Great of making torque, not so great for make power. Again this contributes to higher cylinder pressures and engine stress, and lower power output.
Basically i'd advise go turbo to get better efficiency, reliability and power.

Ricky, on my B18C4 (have bought one now since talking to you about their potential) there really isnt much of a difference when the vtec kicks in (nothing like on my b18c5) which is at about 6K ish on the rev counter (so probably more like 5800 in reality), but I assume that once its turbo'd i'll still be better off kicking it over sooner?
Will be contacting you in about august about the manifold probably as not going to pull the donor apart till July and need to get it in the clio before Im ready to work out where I need the manifold to go etc.

Vtec is actually 4500rpm's what you feel around 6000 is the dual runner intakes switching over from the long to short runners.
If you made the vtec point later you would feel it more. When turbo'd the difference is massive. More than the ITR engine but obviously this gives a lot of wheelspin and tricky mapping especially if using a standalone ECU with single tables for on/off vtec. Your better off vtec engaging lower so the difference between maps is smooth and progressive. But some people ask to be able to feel vtec. In which case 4500rpm is a good starting point, depending on turbo size and airflow. The engines are lazy and horrible in stock form you won't believe how well they drive when turbo'd in comparison.

Interesting, dont notice anything at all at 4500, so obviously they have put the cutover on the point the two curves intersect rather than just past it like on my teg.
Will attempt to maintain that when I am on aftermarket management then, as it works really well as it is.
Yeah I cant wait to see what its going to be like with a bit of boost, hopefully have it running by about this time next year ready for the start of the 2012 trackday season

No bother, just out of interest, as I'm currently looking at Civics on bloody pistonheads How much roughly would a turbo set up similar to the one you have done, cost me?
Cos from what I can see the cars are cheap as chips, and if 300bhp is possible on the factory engine I am suddenly HIGHLY interested. My brother had a VTi Aerodeck thing and I didn't like it, felt slow as shit and like there was lots of shouting but no fight if you follow. However, I rekcon it would have been awesome with a Turbo to add some shove.
Feel free to PM if you don't want to be seen as advertising. I probably wouldn't come to you anyways, as you're 1000000000 miles from me.
Anyways. I like it alot!

Forgot to update this.
Been finish a week or so now, decided to keep the boost nice and low (19psi) as the car has done a LOT of miles. 198k!
Since then i've done this DC2 running 280~hp (customer wanted to stop at that point)
Done a general check over on the 430+hp stock engine'd integra (all fine) wants to run an 11 soon on road tyres.
Something none Honda but rare Meriva VXR custom intercooler, made ~250hp
Just started this Ep3 (civic type R) turbo build, was running 240hp n/a going to run 400+hp turbo, I imagine it will be the UK's most powerful stock engine'd EP3.
Turbo
Inlet manifold for a 700hp civic
Starting an S2000 turbo soon.

It isn't, 7-9psi was seen as excess by most tuners. I'm tempted to go to pod in it tomorrow. Reckon it'll do a 12 if its a decent track.
Thanks, They are pretty quick. Not sure on the clutch in the Jordan actually, the standard clutches do exceptionally well, we have our own made in the states anyway.
Thanks, You need to do a few mods to the wiring, a few mods to the connectors and some other bits and pieces but Crome is fine providing the person mapping it knows what he's doing and has the top version of the software. If he's thinking of getting it done on the "free" version of Crome I wouldn't bother. Hondata doesn't really have anything extra to offer, other than its easier for the mapper.
