Got a bit more done yesterday heads off and most of ancillarys off
Had a bit of a scare a while ago one of the cam bearings collapsed found all the bits bar one, thank god I got a magnetic sump plug found this when I took it out






Start stripping the block today found a company called CG motorsport for the clutch and there local looks like some good gear, gonna go down and have a chatt.

 

Got the block out just got to strip it down and change all the gaskets and seals

 

It just gets better n better that old shed of yours Si

 

Let the spending commence - i'll just sort that job out whilst motors out lol all the best with it your starting at the right time anyway before the cold arrives

 

Got the block painted tonight



Ordered a carbon ceramic clutch having it specially made by cg motorsport should cope with all the power and future upgrades, he's also doing one for the mk2 escort project aswell.
Thinking of getting a upgraded baffle plate for the sump while it's out, what sealant on the sump are you felas using and do you just seal the ends or run it round the whole thing.

Your right there bud already blown my budget, maybe thinking of hydraulic clutch conversion are they easy to do how was yours

Slave cylinder

Small female fitting for the clutch release arm for the slave rod to push in to

and the bell needs modding but you need to get it as close to the transmission housing as possible

Picked up my new carbon Kevlar clutch I've had made by CG motorsport today looks pretty good.
Also got a 6 paddle clutch kit for the mk2aswell, will get pics up soon

 

Started to reassemble the block sent pulleys for powder coating

 

Started on the inlet manifold tonight a clean and some new vaccum pipe fitting

 

Very nice, had the pleasure to park next to you at ford fair
What kind of power will that clutch handle as im having trouble with mine.

He says it will be good for at least 400bhp but he know people who are doing more with no trouble, went for this one so it easier to drive rather than a paddle

 

Expensive? trouble is with mine is the torque which is around 400 lbft I got a new gen motorcraft clutch with a refaced fly and its not happy

 

I'd give them a ring there really helpful and he knows his stuff, they will be able to build one to suit your car, or suggest what you need.

 

I've ordered a autospecialist inlet manifold should be here weds, decided that was the best way to go. So need to get the trumpet part blasted now to match has anyone got any pics of one fitted?

 

Looked at there site but really unsure tbh after an incident with techniclutch i am very cautious.

It's 355.7bhp at the minute should be a bit more with the new inlet and a few other bits.
They are really good they had my two clutches ready in two days, they said they had a lot of people who have had a nightmare with techniclutch, easy to deal with and reliable.

 

Got the sump fitted today and got the fuel pressure reg cleaned



Stripped the inlet manifold need to get it blasted





Get the pulleys back on Tuesday need to get the clutch on now

 

RSty is about done matey (has been for a little while,been too busy working to even drive the bloody thing!!) just an issue with the back brakes and engine to run in

Spesh is gonna hopefully sort it this week so I can get it to the classic car show at ripon next sunday,good to see you if ya make it blue

Clutch fitted tonight had a quick half hour in the garage
New inlet arrives tomorrow

 

These engines are a piece of piss to work on. Keep up the good work.

 

Just got home to a large parcel










Got to pic the trumpet part of the inlet up from the powder coaters tomorrow and the pulleys so should be able to start putting it together.

Got pulleys back from powder coaters got a couple fitted



And got a pin for the clutch fork to pivot on

 

Si, Just a tip make sure your alternator bracket still has a good ground now its been painted
