don't know if it helps but I have a set of high end closed hifi speaker boxes and the wadding in them is not packed, it sits loose and fluffy
They are full to the brim though not 75% so subs may have different needs

Finally got round to finishing it off today, took the interior out first to rewire in my ipod controller and spent a bit more time braiding up the cabling to make it a much tidier job.

There is still a couple of little bits that I still need to do to make it 100% but it's pretty much there now!

Looks good mate, I take it you went the route you did to keep weight down?
How much does it all weigh as would like something similar in my 3dr

Yes that's right the old set up was 27kgs and filled the whole boot, Even though the new sub is heavier than both the old ones this one comes in at about 15kgs. I went a bit OTT on the fibreglass layers too, think I did around 7, whereas 4 would have been fine. It would have come in at somewhere around 12kgs otherwise, but I'll know for next time!

Looks fantastic ..so OEM too, doesn't the amp get in the way when trying to get the spare out though?
7 layers of fiberglass are worth it though, the thicker the enclosure the better, how does it sound compared to the old setup?

Cheers, No the carpet pulls up from the sub side then comes out easy. It sounds alright, just seems quite punchy and doesn't drop as low as the old set up. Think i need to play around with the amp settings and how much wadding i've got in the box to see if I can improve it. If not then I might think about adding a port to the box. All trial and error at the mo!

It does have one as an option if you don't want the crappy bottle of tyre weld and a compressor!
