Default s2 engine conversion ,maybe ,maybe not

how do people, new to the site .
got a s2 rs, and trying to make it concourse,all the body work done, finally. after bout 7 months of messing around (will upload some pics soon to see what you lot think)just wondering what to do with the engine.
its got the 1.6 lump in it at the mo ,but have got the chance of a mk2 focus rs lump with, gear box, ecu, loom,ect.
just wondering if it will fit, and how much work is it really gona be as i will be avin a crack a it myself .if its gona be to much of a pain,ill stick with the 1.6 and see what i can get out of that, just wanted to do something different,anyone can help be much appreciated.

hi pal welcome to the site and where did you manage to get the engine and running gearalso what did you pay for it £££ also about the conversion i dont think it has been done yet not seen one myself so cannot help you there but good look anyway

hi mate havent actually bought the engine yet, but can get it for just over a grand, from a lad in birmingham, but have to get it all checked out yet cause its so cheap ,lad reckons the car was written off but for all i no it could be nicked . hopefuly not though seems preety genuine.

Pritty sure for that money it will be the mk1 FRS engine/box/etc not the mk2. And yes if its the mk1 it can be put in, a fair bit of messing around with gearbox mounts but can be done!

Default scrapped the mk 2 engine conversion idea

gona give up with the idea of mk 2 rs engine conversion, gona be to big a head ache for me, gona try a different route, realised i had bit of way more than i could chew.any fairly simple convervion ideas that any one could give would be much appreciated .

Why do you want an engine conversion? If you're looking for an easy-ish one I'm doing a MK4 Escort with a Zetec Turbo conversion. It's cost me less than a grand so far and my engine is built with all the right bits. I used a de-compression plate instead of getting uprated pistons so I'll be limited to how much boost I can run but if you were to add pistons at 600 and ARP con rod bolts you could run it a bit higher. I'm probably looking at over 200bhp which isn't bad but with the pistons etc you could probably get 250bhp.

im still here peeps ,just got me baby in to a new unit, can start to crack on with things now ,will post some pics of it at the weekend
