Get and paint the exhuast manifold Black or silver. Will look alot 'fresher'. Plus you can pick up ST/ST altenator brackets cheapish these days.

Nah leaving the exhaust red, its a real excellent finish the pics dont do it justice. As for the alternator brackets i've figured out how they fit and now painted.

Thumbs down

Having read this thread from end to end I can quite honestly say that I am quite pissed off to see an already rare car in perfectly servicable condition pissed about with like that... What were you thinking! This is probably why there are not many MK2s left because all the ones in a semi reasonable condition have buggered them up. WHY OH WHY did you vandalise it like that!
I have had my MK2 for a similar length of time to you and it has similar low mileage. Spot the diference... Tasteful mods... not like its been driven through Halfords backwards and through Kwik Fit upside down.

E302 WUA, I think your comments are a bit over the top... The poor lad is trying to make a car that he's proud of, yeah he's made some mistakes but he's learnt from them and the fiesta is starting to look pretty good..... Everyone likes different things and at the end of the day it's a fiesta not a Ferrari etc etc.

Ye its in, I put it in yesterday But not without its problems, let's just say it'll be on my drive for a while. The engine is a mk3 escort cvh apparently so the engine mount I wrong, fits but engine is on an angle at to high on the o/s so bonnet doesn't fit. Alternator bracket is wrong and finally no way on earth will the dizzy cap fit on cos the master cylinder is in the way. Apart from this the engine and box is actually in the car, shame as it all went smoothly working on my own till the.problems appeared. Bummer or what
Now in need of a car for around £300 to get me about for a while till I source the parts and find out what to do with the dizzy.

Ye but u see its all about personel taste. Imo xr2i weels look wank so do pots but that's just my opinion so do xr2 spots they are just too big. So there you go i've done my car to my taste and you've done yours to your taste. I don't like the standard look of the mk2.

Here's the result of that fecking mount DOH. Im not to bothered about this as there's loads of thread left on the engine and gearbox mounts so ill just stick spacers to compensate.

Here it is the biggest problem, now way that cap will fit.

Wrong alternator bracket.

Rad dont fit right but easy fix.

where do fuel pipes go??

Where do this go??

looks like both sides of the engine are high, as should the dizzy not go under the master cylinder?

could the gearbox mount be wrong also?

Only update is i've had to fit the 950cc back in, as the only way to get around the dizzy problem was to fit an xr2 brake bar, servo n master cylinder. (hard to find and would be costly so not bothering now).
so now running and back on the road.

Oh ye and just bought and Escort van to fix up and sell

Why dont you just get rid of the servo and master cylinder and use a compobrake kit?

You'll have space then, plus better braking.

I'll be selling the van shortly so im just gonna tidy it up abit until the logbook arrives back.
Patch weld on 1 sill
Escort GTI side skirts then paint white to match
Clean engine bay and interior
Its got a bad knock when driving think its a drive shaft check this tomorrow and sort it.
2 tyres need replacing and for the same price ill find a set Ford alloys.
Thats it job done nothing else

Heres a pic of my car as it stands now, just needs a wash. Hope everyone approves of my car now, looks good and running perfect with the 950cc back in. That fecking cvh engine and accessories for it cost me around £500 and i cant even use it so gonna see if i can get it sold now.

Woke up this moring with a fecking puncture in a front tyre but because of the cossie brakes up front had to swap it round. So using a pot as a spare for now, pots look naf imo on this.

you obviously have a incorrect combination of parts for the cvh fitment.

Its not as if you was trying a 1st time ever conversion

Ok l ve been guilty of givin u stick before about your car but l think after comin this far with it only to give up on the engine conversion is mad you might as well go the whole way for a couple of extra quid really surprised the conversion stands you so much l think you would struggle to get tha money back again good luck with the build
