cool project, ive just had to take my zvh turbo out of my ka for a freshen up.

Well a couple of years later we've made some progress, but definitely not as much as I'd like. All sorts have been going on with personal lives, but some good solid progress this weekend. The guys at Brunswick racing have very kindly agreed to fit the cage in their spare time, and so far they've done some very lovely welding. The main hoop is in place, the foot plates are in place at the front, and the plates on the rear turrets are in place.

My brother also seam welded the engine bay and the interior of the car. He just needs to clean up some of the welds, but overall it's looking pretty good! They reckon the cage will be finished this week as it's been a bit quiet over there, and then it's a matter of handing it over to some painting professionals to finish up the shell preparation.













Oh, and a bonus video from when we removed the windscreen. We got a knife blade between the glass and sikaflex, and then windscreen then decided to crack so we did it the fun way.

Another quick update - the cage was installed on time, and looks pretty good! Definitely needs some paint to make it look pretty, but I couldn't stop grinning when I saw it in the flesh, even with half the car inside it!



They even added a bar through to the front turrets, through the old wiring loom hole!
