Escort s1 efi project now gone zetec turbo
hi everyone please go easy on me im new here lol
just bought a s1 with efi fitted just need to sort the loom out?
car runs and thats about it nothing else works?
well side lights come on with ignition no back lights indicators dont flash i persume thats down to the loom/relay no central locking doors are de-locked no alarm yet,
once i sus how to post pics i will put a load up

Just incase you did'nt know when you copy the links theres one called an IMG code, if you copy and paste that one it'll open the pics up on here instead of having to open up each image like this. Each pic will have [IMG] at the begining and [/IMG] at the end.

was going to keep bonnet raisers/spacers to aid cooling not sure though?
fitted beige 701 injectors today car also came with a t28 high boost cam any one no if these are any good??

start wiring
started the wiring today with the help of my mate matt cheers bud.
removed the old clocks ordered some 1600i clocks to solve rev counter problem.
all the wires have been twisted toghether and tapped up looks just like my mates stereo lol! what a mess the previous owner obviously didnt own a soldering iron. im cutting mess out and redoing from fuse box into car i cant seem to make head or tail of it at mo its just a mess

RE wire complete arhh bloke cracked zetec maybe????
sorted out me wiring diagrams re-done the loom so every thing works how it should soldered heat shrinked and tapped up with loom tape then in all my excitment got a bit carried away and it then started over heating a few checks later found co in coolant!
head off head gasket gone on the back of no 3 but worst of crack in front of block between 2&3 where the bolt thread is and water ways both side's are arhh. I realy want to go 2.0 zetec now something keeps saying to me do it! so im on the hunt now for a 2.0 zetec to convert i think my efi set up will do to start i have got beige injectors somewhere? am i right in thinking i will need a chip in my ecu for these the manifolds got blue ones in at mo any help or advise on the conversion would be very very helpfull dont know if theres any one near to me that can guide me through/HELP on the conversion cheers all

zetec turbo
just drove 400 miles today well my mate did to pick this 2.0 zetec turbo engine already built/converted all work done going to start taking the cvh out this weekend?
both adaptor plates for the inlet manifolds
and a 230bhp superchip already set up for a 2.0 zetec
any one got any sugestions on what injectors i should be using i do have a set of beige injectors but read on here somewhere there only good for upto 200bhp bare with me as this is the first conversion of this type for me lol
any help or pointers??????

engine swap
got the car to work and started removing engine only to find someone had taken the engine hoist home?
had two choices fork lift or hiab ended up using the forks lol had to cut the rover adaptor plate of the inlet and fit my new zetec to efi one.
mod the engine mount
mod the inlet manifold and throtle cable bracket
also fitted beige injectors for now
i was well happy with what i got done this afternoon as i was on my jack jones lol hers some more pics of this afternoon
hopefully get some more done sun

DONE A LITTLE BIT MORE THIS AFTERNOON FITTED ALL THE BREATHER PIPES RECONECTED FUEL LINES, EXHAUST MANIFOLD & TURBO & REFITTED EXHAUST UP NICE AND TIGHT TO BODY AS IT WAS ALWAY'S SCRAPING HOPEFULLY WONT GET NO BANGING ON THE UNDER BODY,
REPLACED THE OIL FILTER NEW OIL & PLUGS REFITED DRIVE SHAFTS AND FILLED GEARBOX UP WITH NEW OIL
DID NOTICE IN MY RUSH TO GET THE ENGINE OUT YESTERDAY I SPLIT ONE OF THE BRAKE PIPES OF THE MASTER CYLINDER SO MADE A NEW ONE UP THESE ARE ALL TEMP AS THEY DONT FIT NICE AND TIGHT TO BODY SO WILL REPLACE THEM ALL IN TIME,

SORTED OUT ALL ME COOLANT PIPES AND WORKED OUT WHATS GOING WHERE ALSO MADE A ADAPTER PIPE TO TAKE TWO EXTRA FEEDS SAVES ME BUYING ONE AND GETS IT UP AND RUNNING QUICKER JUST GOT TO FIT ME RAD BACK IN? {VERY TIGHT} ALL DONE IN ME LUNCH BREAK LOL WHO NEEDS FOOD LOL PICS TO BE ADDED

had today of work fitted the rad & intercooler along with all the coolant pipes made a bracket up for me mk1 mondeo alternator measured for a belt and fitted one spot on
started her up then started to run like shit looks like the gasket i used between the adaptor plate & the head is not working maybe thats why the rover adapter plate i took of was gummed up with loads of sealant

Good project mate.. What spec is the zetec engine?? And was it easy to plum it all in..As im putting a 2.0 zetec in mine with the added hastle of wireing in megasquirt..Good luck with the project i will be keeping my eye's on it

as far as pluming it all in i found it easy just fab up some coolant junctions moved the sensor of the inlet manifold to the thermostate housing and put a two pin fan switch in the same housing aswell.
fab alternator bracket and engine mount.i used mk1 mondeo alternator
when i got the funds i be going megasquirt/omex or what ever comes up cheap lol
just having time slowing me down realy busy at work & private jobs
ps let us know how you get on with wiring in the megasquirt?

GOT THE COOLING PIPES IN RESEALED INLET MANIFOLD ADJUSTED ACTUATOR COLLINS-35 RUN HER UP MADE SURE SHE WAS COOLING OK RUNNING AT JUST OVER 0.5 BAR FOR THE MOMENT UNTIL I GET IT SET UP PROPER AND IT GOES LIKE FUCKING STINK HOPEFULLY GET IT RUNNING A BAR OF BOOST ONCE SET UP!
CANT WAIT IT SPINS UP TO THIRD ALREADY AND TORQUE STEERS IN 4TH HAVNT GOT IN TO 5TH YET STILL HAVNT BLEED THE BRAKES PROPELY YET SO COULDNT GO TO MADE LOL YOU GOTA TRY IT LOL
