nb lad. mind and get me the number for your man near me breaking the 2 rsts! :L

anyway heres yesterdays update.
got the grinder out and decided that id start to grind old welds down and grind all the shitty rust from the floor.
this led to some more holes. but hey better sorting them now than having to do it later lol
step one. get rid of the sound deadener.

hammer and flat headed screw driver later

another wee picture of the floor were my pedals are. obviously some smart boy jacked her underneath the floor pan.

underneath the sound deadener was this tiny bit more rot.

then this above that.

passengers side was next, same again strip sound deadener. (this is were i used the grinder )

After

next stop was the boot to make sure it wasnt hiding anything....and it was :L
passengers side boot floor pan just above the chassis leg

then passengers side beside the tower

drivers side beside the tower as well.

and remember the patch that she already had in the boot? well i didnt like the bird shite welding wo i decided to grind it down abit and flatten it and it was a good thing i didnt like it as as soon as teh grinder went near the weld the plate popped up :L good bit of welding there lol

how my old room now looks

and another wee piece i found. under the bonnet bling lol i like randomly finding rs turbo parts here lol
for sale??

nah thats no rot at all :L the oul boy is doing the welding and he said today 'god this is clean compared to what my xr3i was' so hes confident enough and so im happy with that :L although he isnt looking to use full floor pans. he wants to cut the old rot away and cut the same bit from a new pannel and use it like that. hes the welder so il leave it in his hands lol.

send me that wee weasals number then lad lol

sorry all i have been buying stuff etc and working away i just updated another website more than this :L
ok so this is how progress has went.

stripped the kit off the car and began hunting for more rot

some rot at front drivers side of the sill

and got rid of the silly dials for a set of standards (thanks to dandannydandan)

and i was having boosting problems. car would boost untill 4k revs and then splutter and backfire. and this was the little bollox that caused it
screwed out too much

got a new charge carrier with built on dump valve

unfortunately the car wont idle with it so i started hunting for a twin piston dump valve

and got a pace intercooler as well (thanks to jamesyRS)

fitted

also ordered a new oil cap and sparkplugs

a little posy pic of charge carrier and oil cap lol

and the welder that has been given the task

the oul boy doing some strengthening before the new pan went in

floor pan

me cutting a tiny bit off

floor pan in place

and the oul boy working his magic

floor pan in and welded

tigger over to check how strong it is (hes alot heavier than he looks lol)

after this i forget the camera a couple of times i went up. but wasnt much to take pics of. i found another rs turbo being broke near my dads house so happy days i get some parts for mines.

remembered the camera at last
2nd floor pan in

and i finally found what i was looking for. (thank you Djmillsy)

and i have known about an xr3i for a while that has special edition rs half leather recaros.
they will need a re trim, but i can get them for good money. so im just hoping re trimming isnt too dear.

sorry for taking so long to update lol
cheers for looking all
