time For tappet shims!
Grinding machine,
In the bucket
All done,
Block from machining being paint strippered
All holes tapped out
Block etch primed
Block painted. This was after tape was removed so still had to clean mating faces tap holes and clean throughly
Decided to get ten studs rather then usual six no reason
Minty mint std/std razor blade balanced crank going in on mahle bearings.
Also got my rad and cooler from pro alloy. I supplied core and they done a stunning Jon on tanks, few minor adjustments then it will be going back to pro to be dne black
Another update tomorrow as the bottom end progresses.

This is just an unfinished restoration project , the wings of the car has been removed ( new wings with the shell ) and had the under side stripped and spray are sealered , and under the bonnet was repainted with moonstone blue.

Got a little bit done this morning before taking a battering go karting.
Pistons, cp pistons with gudgeon pin moved to suit long rods.
Long auto Verdi rods
Checking how far pistons protrude
Pistons had to have a small amount off the top
Four long studs temporarily fitted to do compression ratio.
Compression ratio was bang on as desired so no bowling necessary
Happy days!

looking good jim, you will have it running in no time
what studs are you using? most studs break into the oil gallery apart from reylands which i have, yours look a no where near the oil gallery and not much of a step for the studs to sit on.
