Default Zetec Turbo S2

Hello, owned this car since may this year, its my first RS, basically got it off someone local i know for a good price, was going to be driving around in it after id got it running but decided it was a bit too tatty so ive started taking it to bits ready for paint etc.
Its recently had a stage 3 cylinder head put on with a kent cam, but hasnt been on the road since.

Plans are to get all bodywork put straight,
get it painted and give the engine the once over, nothing overly special just a nice clean looking car which is fairly nippy.
Be gentle its my first project so progress will be steady, any help would be greatly appreciated as its all new to me!
cheers

Starting cutting away at the rotten front panel tonight, got a replacement to weld in place.

Update:
The roof around the sunroof area had bubbled paint areas so on further investigation we found there was holes everywhere held together by filler, so the only option was to cut these sections out and weld in plates

Engine ready for head

Freshly rebuilt turbo with 360degree bearing

Ill try not to leave it so long for an update next time, just got a few more bits of welding to do and then its ready for the paintshop, looking forward to it, cheers.

Incredible work going on here mate, this is going to be a superb example when finished. Are you going to get the paintshop to blow it over everywhere? Was going to say you may aswell get them to do the inside to, would be a really nice shell then.

Whats the story with the red one? Is that a mate whos doing the same sort of project?

Keep the good updates coming!

Thanks alot Yeah we know the guy who owns the paintshop so he's doing that for us, im undecided whether or not to do the interior yet, i shall have a word and see how much extra it will be first, and yes the red one is a mate of my brothers having the same done to it, my dad will be doing the welding on it after mine is painted, needs a bit more welding than mine.

Yeah it was a cheap pattern front panel that i cut down, wasn't the perfect match so just cut the bits out needed.

Update, engine is now built, some more works been done on the shell, going to get it all sorted over the christmas holiday ready for the paintshop in the new year.

Started cleaning inside the arches ready for some underseal

Hole in drivers side floorpan, has been welded up now, found the same on the passenger side which needs sorting too

New battery tray support panel being welded in, going to be putting the battery in the boot

Waiting to be seam sealed

Fuse box area needs sorting

New panel to make life easy

And one final one, mocked the turbo up onto the engine, excuse the dirty rocker cover, going to have that powdercoated over the holidays
