Cheers
Got most of interior in, wheeled it outside for the first time since its been painted;
Finally got all the front end finished off
Just having oil pressure problem now which is doing my head in so may have to get it looked at.
All thats left to do now is headlining, front seats, new door seals and handbrake cable, so with a bit of luck it'll be on the road soon, can't wait

Right, well over due update after mucking about with the 1.6 with low oil pressure ive got fed up and binned it, sorting a 2.1 zvh out, my dads prepared the block and is machining the rods for the vauxhall pistons,
Block;
box of goodies
new AP organic clutch
And cylinder head which has been skimmed and my brothers cleaned it up for me
Just waiting on pistons and rods and headgasket from sitech then the build can begin, then back into the car.

Time for an update,
Engine mount altered for zetec block;
Got it all built up
Back in again and running to find out that the reamed out little ends were a bad idea as they rattled like hell
So out she comes yet again
Got these rods which have a vauxhall little end complete with bush to solve the problem
Just got to get it built back up, also have newman cam and solid lifters on the way.
one headlining made from scratch;
And latest pic of how the car currently sits

Right, finally after 2 years the thing is now on the road!
Quick spec;
2.1 zvh running EFi
Vauxhall pistons
custom Farndon steel rods with ARP bolts
Cometic MLS headgasket
Kent cam and vernier pulley
T3 with 360 bearing
Has been setup at FST Automotive in scunthorpe.
Done around 300 miles in it so far, touch wood had no problems, took a few pics of it lastnight
Just a few small jobs to do now such as jacking point covers, catch tank etc.

Cheers, it came with blue bumper inserts when i bought it so i thought id carry the theme on throughout the car with blue hoses, badging and need to paint all the brake calipers blue aswell, thought it looked quite good being different, its not too vibrant a colour to make it stand out i think

Thanks mate, yeah wasnt too bad really, got the grinder to the back of the bumper to remove the steel plate then pulled all the foam out if it and then trimmed the painted part of the bumper to suit, you will have to slice the thin peice in the middle that connects top part of bumper to the bottom aswell or it wont fit behind it. ill take a close up pic tonight and post it for you

Here you go mate, pics arent the best but it gives you an idea, use a dremel or rotary tool to cut the bumper itself;
This is the peice that needs cutting down;
And an engine bay pic since converted to EFi

Been a while, done a fair bit to the car since my last post, heres whats been happening, hope you like.
well back end of last summer, the oil pump let go which also made me see the other problems with the engine, was a bit gutted at this point as i had track sessions booked at ford fair, and this happened about 3 days prior, so i pulled the engine out to see the damage,
turned out my vauxhall pistons were slightly touching the oil spray jets, and it had battered one off, i found it lurking in the oil pick up pipe!
I then had the pistons machined to clear these jets, but i didnt take any pics at the time.
so to cheer me up a bit i bought myself a new toy
been at it for a short while and started to get the hang of it
Then when the weather turned for winter it got too bad to be out on the bike so i turned my attention to the car and started gathering parts for the engine build, all new bearings, gaskets, piston rings and a gen ford oil pump this time!
new shells in, they are the only pics i took of the build though, i dont often have a camera in my hand!
while i was refreshing the engine, got a couple of friends to flat and polish the car for me as id never had it done since it was painted, i couldnt beleive the results
tried a quick tester on the roof
Here you can see the difference in reflection
so on with the rest of the car
then i decided enough was enough with that crappy sunroof, so out it came, and got my dad to weld a plate in its place
Slapped some hammerite on it to keep it good, then went down to Essex to see Phil at carbon delight for my new roofskin, what a top bloke he is and his work is fantastic, well pleased with it
the pic he sent me when it was ready for collecting
quick test fit, then loads of sealant and the arse clenching moment of dropping it in place
so much better!
had to have a new screen as i broke it removing it lol
still need to get some proper pics of the whole car with the roof on it,
got a 90 spec bumper painted and stuck that on the car, took a quick pic as it was getting dark
Got it taxed and back on the road last weekend, but its sat waiting for the wheels to be painted, pretty much where im at at the minute, will hopefully update more over the weekend
