Anyone recomend a decent v6/cosworth 4x4 clutch (they are the same) set up that is reasonably priced? thought of using a six paddle centre with standard cover is this ok? never really used uprated clutches. thanks in advance

You can see on the picture above the oil draain for the head is where the return is going and the pressure switch on the block is where the feed will come from.

Clutch is the same as a 4x4 cossie and Diesel transit (not sure on the model)
Nice work on the exhaust. Think the alternator may need to be move down some?

Cheers, looking for an uprated clutch though as i think the standard RS/v6 one wont hold the torque any ideas on one mate? Im mounting the alternator high up where th pas pump used to live (my car has no pas)

Car looks cool mate, the clutch im using in mine is a AP 4 paddle plate with a Cosworth cover. Seems to work ok. Oh and the pic of the BOB Turbo that robrs2 put up belongs to me Mines nearly all done now, just got a mapping session to do........

Bought this clutch plate, going to use it with a standard cover, hope this holds the torque of the mighty v6 turbo lol. Engine, box and car are ready to go together, but before i do that i am going to do the crap jobs lol; i have a mitsubishi gto twin turbo fuel pump to fit in my tank, the tank needs mounted, the fuel pipes need ran, the brakes need stripped and cleaned, new pads and discs, the subframe/ anti roll bar and handbrake cables need fitted correctly, all straight forward mechanicals but a bit tedious lol.

a mate has some 320mm discs, alloy bells, cosworth calipers and brackets for sale, but obviously would need 17s for those, ill maybe buy them and keep them in stck for future though mate. I dont need big brakes to beat you at crail lol, You not starting a project thread for your saff?

put the high pressure fuel pipes on last night, secured all brake pipes, mounted my Mitsubishi Gto twin turbo in tank pump, and put the tank up. Got the brakes stripped down just now, in the process of cleaning them up and painting them, new discs and pads etc, then finaly i can start on the fun bit! the engine!

Does your dog not stop very well lol! i hope so mate, always thought it was to do with how the clutch friction material/plate dissepates the heat? An uprated cover would create more friction for sure but 300 lbft is maybe top limit for a standard clutch (my proposed torque level), so i thought i had better get an uprated plate just to be on the safe side

last time i looked my engine had cosworth written on it, twice! I am paying for bits for this car as i go along, as i didnt have 4k for a "real" cosworth without re-mortgauging my house lol, plus anyone can buy a cossie, i wanted to build something different. what would you sugest making fuel lines out of then smart arse? Copper is good enough for brake pipes at 2000 psi, so im sure it will be fine at 60psi! Speak to dingbro they supplied it as fuel pipe.

Anytime I see copper fuel pipes I think bodge.my car has them and they are in the bin already.copper is soft and compresses with pressure so I wouldn't use them.I'll have. Hydrasun make some braided hoses.I like having a real cossie as I can phone up anywhere and buy any proven performance part or ask a question and somebody will have the answer straigthaway.I prefer that nowadays to building a car from piles of bits to have something that will never be reliable

what running gear is the same?because all mine is cosworth 2wd and his gearbox is an xr 4x4/mtx box, diff is an xr item, brakes are standard.engine may be more reliable in standard form but not with a wiring loom thats home made or a turbo conversion thats made from whats lying about and bits from all sorts of cars.
as for the race, whats the point.my car has more power and an engine half the weight,a better diff so its a foregone conclusion who will win.
there are a few folk on here with 2.9 cosworth engined sierras, any folk with a turbo'd 1 with a 1/4 mile time out of interest?when i had a 2.9 cosworth saph my best ever time at crail was 15.2 and a 97 mph terminal iirc.couldnt get it moving for wheelspin as crail has a start line like a billiard ball.

Having a real cossie=£££'s spent on keeping them reliable, we've all been there. But a turbo v6 gives a kick different to the yb, nice and smooth.

and a 15.2 is very good from a standard motor. a standard Yb is meant to do circa 15 seconds from factory, most std ones ive seen do a 15-16 second. i 24v engine is heavier than a TB, but not once you put all the intercooler, turbo and ancillaries on. i love Yb's and the 24v but i think your being very harsh. this car will no doubt be a weapon.

Nothing wrong with copper lines.
Do you all know what brake line were for many years?
A lot of garages still replace brake line with copper as there easier to fit.
And as for damage. Ford and other fit nylon/plactic fuel line as standard. think copper is far stronger than them.
If the right stuff is use there is no problem, just dont use thin wall domestic copper pipes.
