that looks something similar to what i have planned, that would put the turbo to the front ay? your downpipe just going to squeeze between the manifold and the inner wing? i want to see if i can keep both cast manifolds and just do a U turn with one of them, not even thought much about it yet though TBH.

i know its not a very conventional way of doing it, but when i looked into turbo charging mine the turbo all got very cramped and i was worried it would melt stuf, could you not remove all the airbox and mount the turbo on the inner wing? similar to the zzz granada.

hi mate, not sure i catch ya drift? i think there is a reasonable ammount of space (not loads!) and i have no airbox so will be going with a k&N i would immagine, as for melting stuff, maybe look into getting some heat wrap, but ill wait till the engine is in before i commit to any desicions regarding turbo. Thanks for the input though, glad to hear any sugestions.

just looked at your car and the idea im thinking is putting it roughly where your airbox is, so yeah, thats the place mate! will be attached to the engine and free from the inner wing though as the engine will need to flex.

ill probably cut that aluminium elbow on the throttle body and weld it round the other way to send it this way too for ease of piping to the intercooler. I cant see any where else you would put the turbo? this side is too busy and there is not enough room between engine and rad.

like you can see on the pic of my engine you posted, the battery tray and fire wall all get very close, i think that the downpipe would end up being almost a 90' bend from the exhaust housing and be very restrictive.
have you looked on boost performance's list of uprated parts for these engines http://boostperformance.co.uk/
they have done several before so if you ring them im sure they will be able to help.

I have also aquired two gearboxes, a 2.0 dohc rwd mt75 (50 quid) and a 4x4 v6 mt 75(100 quid, thanks liam for meeting me half way, top bloke! ) The plan is to take the aRSe end off of both boxes, and make a rwd mt75 for the v6, i will have to swap the main shaft as its longer as well as the v6 bell housing. i also got the 2.0 prop with the rwd box, ill post some pics of the boxes getting stripped when i do it (with the help of gearbox genius and mate steve!) for now here are the boxes as they stand

Clutch is the same as a 4x4 cossie or transit diesel not sure on the model. You can use either flywheel 2.8 or 2.9. The 2.9 will go straight in to the mt75 box. The 2.8 will need the clutch arm pivot point extending by about 20mm.
I the x-member is steel its a 2wd, if its alloy its a 4wd

Cheers mate, i had a quick look last night and it looks as if they will work, if they are a little out there is plenty of scope to drill new holes in the x-member, the plan this week if i get time is to sort the engine out, it needs EGR removed, pas pump removed and generaly minamise all the non essential components, might even give the old girl a quick paint, nothing bufty, just a tidy up!

Right, ive stripped both boxes. The 4x4 gears have been taken off of the shaft and put onto the rwd shaft so i can use the lay shaft from the v6 with v6 first motion shaft and have v6 ratios in my box, ive also swapped the v6 front casing over onto the rwd box to create a v6 rwd mt75, ive got pics of the build to follow. Couldnt of done this without my mate steve, thanks mate.
Also got the engine on a stand now, removed the power steering pump and cast bracket, also taken both manifolds off. I plan on using the cast manifolds on the opposite sides from factory, facing forwards, and put the turbo at the front passenger side, bring the other exhaust header down and under the crank pulley then up into the turbo. I will have to mount the alternator where the pas pump was, and also Re drill and tap some holes for exhaust studs, but it looks like it will work!
