hey peeps....been working on it today....

driver side arch sanded and shaped ready for primer
escort rs turbo decals removed
rear bumper ready for primer
bonnet ready for primer
all rust removed from car
from bumper needs final filler skimmed

tomo:

finish front bumper
passenger side arch
doors need flatting
finish smoothing mirrors
remove screen (maybe)

primer will b on the car for 1 week to dry fully then block sand it all down then paint then let dry for another 3-4 days then cut and end of phase 1

cheers peeps! just having a break from it...front bumper is nearly done, doors nearly done, arch is in progress at the moment, the sunroof is nearly sorted...

hopefully by the end of the day all the above work should be done...ill try to get some pics later

updated peeps!

ok, now where to begin lol...work done to the car this week is:

Remove windscreen
Remove ALL rust from car - sunroof and windscreen
sand complete car
prime car
finish rear arches
flatten door handles
remove little dings and dents

the car has been coated in Glasurit Primer where needed (only parts not to be done was the boot, small bit on the door and c pillars....primer alone cost Ł195!!! but the quality of the stuff is amazing! even the sprayer stood back and said that is a good finish...he aint looking forward to sanding it though as he tried a little today (to get rid of a few imperfections) and he said its like rock LOL...looks like sanding will take longer than expected

am going to wait 1 week before we start sanding the car so the primer has had the chance to dry FULLY and hopefully help give a better finish instead of only the top layer being dry and us sanding then quickly spraying it...

the windscreen area wasnt as bad as your old one lol...there was a hole about 1" long but its all be welded up now so it was a proper job...you can just about see the filler on this pic



and there was a little on the A piller about .5cm high...apart from that it was sound.....windscreen cracked when taking it out though...SOOO glad im changing it

put the car back together today...well the bumpers lol...things are looking like this now:













still havent fitted the Laguna splitter yet as i was spraying it up in the sunshine...but it wont go on until after the respray is done...dont want it same colour as the car LOL

the dash needs to be sorted out and put back into place...after the new alarm goes in LOL...ne one wanna buy a Clifford Concept 300??

well not gonna touch the exterior of the car for a week or so now...Needs to go back to the bodyshop though to get the wing sorted out...one of them aint been done properly

if i get the chance i might start the underside when im bored

Hey peeps quick update...been on the car today and managed to get most of the primer rubbed down...parts done are

boot, driver side door, bonnet and roof...oh and rear 1/4's where the glass sits in

hopefully by the end of the day both doors will be complete and i will start on the kit (needs going over quickly)

Also picked up the new alarm for it...maybe rip out the old one tonight

thats about all to report back at the moment...will try to get some pics later

robin...no need to rush it mate its when you make mistakes lol...watch the MASSIVE amount of lines in the paint now its taken this long because of the amount of work that has gone into the car...rear arches, front wings, windscreen etc etc all while im trying to revise for my exams and get uni out the way lol

cheers peeps! bit annoyed at the moment....went to the bodyshop last week friday and they havent even started on the car at the moment...it was meant to be finished by tuesday last week!....dad ended up having a MAJOR argument with the guy we know there (the owner ) and he keeps saying they aint had time to start it! let alone finish it...

so now he says they will start it next week monday...have it fully painted by wednesday and then let it dry for another 3 days then ill take it back for the paint to be cut then build it all back up

very annoyed at the moment...considering selling it...have been offered a Seat Leon Cupra R but the insurance is a little steep
