Something a little different..........
ive owned it for 18 years, sold my daily driver to pay for the resto and although not finished , its out and about. took nearly 3 years to strip the car back and rebuild it all, old banger was rotten under the panels but sailed through the mot on its maiden run out. ive had guidence with the work from some good friends but all the work was done outside the house in the garden. like it or hate it, if you drive past it youll look at it
ive managed to get a turbo for the 6 pot at home and am building the rest of the system up to install it.turbo technics lightened me of a few quid to rebuild the internals but its all balanced etc now.....apparently.
if its good ill be happy, if not then ive got a 3.9 rover v8 on the engine stand at work waitng in reserve ........
sorry for any repeated pics..

desperate measures taken to do the oil pump............. yep i got real wet and cold

we cut the edge off with a mega thin disc and welded a new lip on the reverse side and then dressed it..

with a little patience most things are achieveable
and heres the finished inner arch pics

thanks all
the corsas are raced by the body shop mate, they had a few knocking around. not my kinda cars so i didnt bother paying em any attention.
as for my motor, its not to everyones taste but its works for me.i wanted to build something that no one else had done. its sat on spax progressive springs, mk3 granada 16" alloys that have been powder coated and the engine bay is pretty much obvious so i wont list whats been moved or changed.
it wont win any track days or 1/4 mile sprints but i dont mind, these werent ever gonna be quick by a long shot.....well not on my budget anyway.
sounds ok and goes pretty well for an old armchair motorway roller.
its all mouth and no trousers, looks a bit purposfull , moves like it could be a bit handy and sounds like its packing........just needs the turbo sorted and fitted . ill do that at the end of the summer.
wanna hear it???

Stripped the v8 down to the block today, need to get a set of bearings now,gutted.....gonna paint this lump yellow and black with silver bits.....dunno why, just fancy something a bit different. That said if the turbo turns out to be sufficient ill finish the v8 and either sell it on for a profit or stash till I can afford a mk2 cortina to drop it in.

My paint was done last November and looked the nuts, sadly I've noticed some reactions so ill be taking it back and see what they say. May be interested in your mates company if he's better
V8 crank is mullered,Paul gonna have a try but may all be over sadly. Gonna see if he has any luck .
Paint will be returned after battlesbridge show mate. Got a charity show on the 18th July too so very busy at the moment.

The colour is highland green and is an old Ford colour.they used it on anglias and similar.I started painting it nearly 3 years ago but around a year ago everyone else started using similar colours.......think its the only mk2 in the pastel green though. After yesterday its looking very likely the v8 isn't gonna happen, too much wrong with it. So the turbo option is looking good now
