Looks much better with the painted bottom lip!
As for the clutch slipping, mine did it on and off for a few months but strangely hasn't done it now for a long time. I would like a decat/sports cat and downpipe but i've got a little one on the way so need to stop the spending!

Well its been a week without an update so here is a little one;
New RS Turbo vents delivered;
Nice selection of Motul coolant and oil;
Also got some Bilt Hamber snowfoam and gave it a bash;
Had a full new set of Parada tyres fitted and also waiting for my new EBC yellowstuff pads and turbogroove discs getting delivered
4am tomorrow morning sees me heading off to Dreamscience for the RS clutch but unfortunately not the diff as spent the diff money on the tyres and brakes instead
Diff will be on before FordFair though all being well 8)

Well today saw the following work being completed;
- RS clutch conversion
- Motul 0w40 oil
- New oil filter
- Oil leak investigation
- General clean of components
- Animal removal
Pics of today;
Oil leak;
Parts everywhere;
Various shots;
Old clutch;
New clutch;
Wrestling a gearbox;
Cleaning;
Whilst on the ramps dropped the RARB onto the softer setting;
Whilst investigating the oil leak found some pieces of what at first looked like pieces of shredded rag;
Then after some fiddling this dropped out of the pulley -
Looks like some critter has tried to scuttle around and I have started the engine

Woah, 2 updates in under 24 hours . Good job that rodent didn't do anything serious, looks fairly mangled like he didn't stand a chance .

Lol at the rodent My work's berlingo has got a squirrel living under the bonnet, there is a big stash of nuts in the corner of the bulkhead! You were very lucky, if that got wrapped round the drivebelt you could have been in a lot of bother.
How does it feel with the new clutch?

Clutch is awesome - excellent pedal feel and can use the power with no issues
Still not sure if super squirel has done any long term damage as he caused an oil leak but still havet found exactly where it gets from
Another update now;
Car has been fully cleaned, waxed, sealed - same for engine and wheels and had new front brakes fitted
All ready for Heaves Hall RSOC day tomorrow

Well after looking over the car I was sick of the plastic on the mirrors and adjacent triangular shaped trim looking grey against the black mirror caps.
So today was time to sort this, out came the black paint;
Then whilst the paint was out did the aerial mount and the bee sting aerial so it all matches;
Then still getting carried I whipped out the boot trim which was worn and tatty and smoothed out what marks I could before painting the 3 dark pieces in black;
Then last job of the day but no pics - the bonnet locking barrel had been broken for a while - had the new one but never had the enthusiasm to sort it
Its all sorted now and bonnet locks and opens as Ford intended

The triangles just pop off - they are just push in clips that pop out when pulled gently
Benefits of the extension is it stops the pesky engine lamp popping up about the 0 cell sportcat

Well little update ready for my first trackday of the year - 9th July at Croft
Today for the Brembo rear pads fitted, Motul RBF660 fluid loaded - brakes are now complete for track.
Other than that - made a new camera mount as dont have the rear seats anymore, I bought one from a mate and modified it (if you wondering why there are 4 holes its because it can also be used as a headrest mount and thats what I ran last year)
Its abit rough but will do the job nicely
Had various heatshield rattles underneath so started sorting these then remembered I had to lower my tailpipes to minimise bumper melting on track. Adjusted these before but found the original Piper clamps arent stainless so were knackered; now these lovely Mikalor clamps are used. Next job on exhaust is HKS gaskets and replace any other clamps with Mikalors
Then got this marmite mod;
Baileys DV26 with SFS fitting kit - only bought it as was going cheap so thought would see if I like it - I really do as well
Other little mod, Mk3 Focus washer jets;
Not the most interesting update but these are fantastic compared to standard jets. Was in Scotland recently and the roads were filthy and the jets just couldnt get the water where it was needed - this isnt the case anymore.

How come your using 0w40 oil? Wouldn't that be too thick when warm?
I know my old mans T5 (same engine) is supposed to use 0w30, but we use 5w30 as its far easier to get hold of.

The oil I use is designed specifically for the 5 pot engine - Motul 8100 X-Max, car runs lovely on it
I prefer to run the car on what is perfect for it - I ran Motul 300V Racing 5w30 last year and it was superb but thought would give this a try and it runs slightly smoother
Beefy - no prob at all - am doing 1 or 2 sessions where am taking people out in it for a few laps each.

PassionFord Post Whore!!
Any news on the sensor sleeve?
Also the washer jets, do these spray out a wide spray instead of 2 jets each?
Its doing my head in with mine as the jets miss the bottom of the window on the drivers side and always dirty, have to put wipers on max and hit the jets several times so the head light washers go off as well Petty thing but bloody annoying!

Yeah the new nozzles are great - they spray a nice mist over the screen instead of 2 pathetic little jets that go no where you want
The sensor sleeve has been sold on as thinking of going sportcat later on

I've got those new washer jets on mine, think they are shit Half of it goes over the bonnet so makes a complete mess and they don't spray particularly well anyway.
Carlos, you do realise you can adjust the jets don't you. Stick a pin in the holes and you can move them around!

Well here we go first update for over a month
So on 9/10th July was Croft RSOC day with the ST on track and 0-60 sprints, the ST had brake fade after 3 laps meaning I was out until it was sorted
Big thanks to JamSports Jamie for the help while I was in the pits;
I sort of lost interest in the car so sold the DV, RARB and few other bits and now regret doing this
FordFair prep was then the order of the day so repainted all the brakes, rebled all the brakes, fitted the old EBC front discs with brand new pads then lowered the rear another 15mm and generally cleaned all the car up.
The day after finishing the car it was rear ended for the 2nd time so my insurance pulled out all the stops to get the car repaired by the thursday before FordFair - they delivered perfectly and the repair is once again amazing 8)
So the car was displayed on the FastFord stand and got a great reaction even with the marmite graphics and then I did my track session which went ok bar some questionable driving from others;
Then returned from FordFair and stripped all the graphics off ready for lots of paint correction before the new graphics are fitted;
So today was the time for me to start developing my own cooling systems for both the turbo and the oil. I have sourced both coolers now - have a 13 row oil cooler now plus a cooler I am going to use to cool the water leaving the turbo to take some strain off the coolant system;
Ignore the fins on the left cooler as these need a fin brush running over them
I am not in a massive hurry so will just be plodding on with these upgrades ready for next year.

Agree with the above, looks sorta sad without the stripes, they made it look wild and menacing on track.
Good luck with it and keep up the updates!

I really miss the stripes its only so I can get the paintwork upto scratch as swirlmarked quite badly
The Tiger Stripes will be making a return
Cheers for all the comments on the car
The Bilt Hamber is the best snowfoam I have used - doesnt say much as I havent tried a large amount of snowfoams
