Well today was another visit to Dreamscience HQ in Hull 8)
List of work completed;
- RS oil cooler installation
- New oil & filter
- Bleed clutch
- New power steering fluid
- Tweak actuator
- General look over
- Test Turbo X software on standard turbo
- Steering creak to investigate
Old ST oil cooler;
New RS oil cooler;
The oil;
It appears the creak on the steering may be coming from the joint in the footwell - going to try lots of grease before commiting to a new one.
Also a nice surprise was my magnex downpipe has a threaded hole ready for my AFR gauge to go into when I start that project;
Also called at the Humber Bridge for some pics;
As always it was a great visit to Dreamscience and amazing service by both Jared & Carl. Sure will be back soon when the next stage goes ahead.
On way stopped for super unleaded and by god it was expensive;
A nice little phone pic off when I arrived;
Rob

Cheers for the comments
Teeny tiny update;
When on track I always looked at people with the towstraps hanging off the car and can see they are alot better than the standard tow hook but can look... erm shall we say less classy
I wanted the ease of not having to remove the bumper cap and screw in the ugly Ford hook but without the full on LOOK AT MY TOW STRAP
My solution;
In road trim;
And in track trim;
Isnt fully secured as making a proper locator plate at the minute but will look exactly the same.
Also finally got some new Iguana wiper blades which are ideal and work tremendously for the money - bargain at Ł12.40 for a pair of aero ones.

Car is booked in at Dreamscience for the 27th March - next tuesday for Turbo X (stage 4). Wanted to get the diff on as well but dont have the time as just say managed to get the time off for the turbo alone. So diff is on hold till I can be off
work again.
So today I got my scangauge 2 mounted in the car properly;
Also got my new snowfoam lance and tried it out on my Mams Freelander;
Then last but certainly not least my new Boost control solenoid has arrived - big thanks Dave!
My new wheels have been made at the factory and are currently being fitted with tyres and should be with me shortly. I also am waiting for my red coolant hose kit being delivered so plenty on the go

Nice work mate, I've thought about one of those scan gauge things. Do those boost control solenoids make that much difference? Have thought about getting one for mine but seeing as there is no problem with the original then don't know if it's worth it.

The standard one seems to 'to off' after while and the boost doesnt come in as hard. These valves are the price of 2-3 standard valves but are rebuildable and as a benefit boost comes in alot harder.

I am sitting here after putting my car through its paces and by god its mental!
Let me explain today I visited Dreamscience for the second time within a month and today saw my car go from stage 3+ to stage 4 Turbo X.
The car is now unspeakably fast compared to Mod X.
Also had my IPD solenoid fitted and MAP sensor as this was still the original one from the factory and had snapped.
Now for those who think different turbos are going to cause issues here are some of my thoughts after nearly 200 miles on Turbo X;
- Better MPG
- Quieter cruising at speed
- Very smooth map
- Unbelievable torque ramp
My car last made 319.8bhp so should be a good load more all being well. What is funny though is there has been an audible leak from the boost pipes somewhere - the noise was located today and was 2-3 of the exhaust manifold bolts to the head were loose.
You can see the carbon leftover on the head here;
Old turbo setup;
New Turbo:
In place;
And now for some devils advocate -
I havent had it on the rolling road and is booked on for the 18th April. This should hopefully allow me time to get a new plenum for the car on.
I did however use the scangauge to get some before readings and this was around the 294bhp mark as its just a guess and now it reads 344bhp. These were both done in 4th gear.
The funny part is that the 344bhp one was around 10degrees higher temp than the 294bhp run.
So to some up - Amazing upgrade! 8)

Shouldnt see any issues with the liners - has been done right - cooling taken care of and only good quality parts and fluids so am confident it will be perfect blend of power and reliability
Good news came today as my plenum should be here in time for the rolling road on the 18th April.
Also got my new wheels through today so getting them on tomorrow

Another update after a very busy day.
I received my new wheels so got the old wheels off and cleaned out the arches;
New wheels - TD Pro Race 1.3 in 19x8.5" and in gloss black. Pics arent great but will be out on sunday so car getting washed tomorrow - will do proper pics then;
Next up was my new SFS Perfomance red coolant hose kit;
Also removed the DV26 as got loads of wastegate chatter to listen to now;
Now the overall look - just needs a good clean;
Hopefully will have my new plenum within a fortnight as well so plenty on the go

Brilliant progress
Quick question, the pipe from under the cam belt cover that you cut to fit a T piece for the DV. Does it run into the inlet? I was only making 3/4 boost and found that pipe was split, is it easy to replace?
Is it a vacuum pipe?

Will try and sort an in car video tonight - want one of the chatter as well
Am very happy with the progress to date - the DV26 was venting off some of the boost so have dropped that and now it feels even stronger

So today I recieved my Plenum from Auto Specialists.
Fantastic service as normal - Plenum was sent yesterday afternoon and recieved this morning at 10:25.
I dont normally take pics like this but this is how it arrived - very well packaged to say the least;
Lovely finish;
New fittings and instructions;
Now onto fitting;
Nice and easy job fitting it - take out the 8mm hex head bolts under the plenum, remove the boost line, breather hose and brake pipe then lift clear.
Split the throttle body off;
Old vs. New;
Fit the throttle body to the new plenum;
Job done;
Road tested and car feels smoother and alot better through the mid range. Acid test will be the rolling road a week today 8)
Quality is amazing as was the service 8)
Would highly recommend this item

Well today was another visit to Scoobyclinic
Since the last run here where I ran 319.8bhp & 370Ib/ft
I have added the following;
Dreamscience Turbo X Turbocharger with forge actuator, dump valve and map
I also added an IPD valve, removed the Bailey DV26 & also fitted the new Airtec plenum
So the results are as follows;
352bhp & 435Ib/ft
To say I am happy is an understatement. I was told the plenum aids torque more than power and this certainly seems to be the case
Still more power mods planned but think I will now cap it at 360bhp so its nice and useable 8)
