Marks back so can finish off the motor only the clutch to bleed & then mapping. Will go to MAD tomorrow seems ages since i last saw the car.
Looks like I will be at Autosport 2011 been asked today by a mag, its a show i always wanted to do . Have entered the next Vmax but not sure if we will be ready to run flat out by then, may use it as a test/mapping day.
Even I can run 200mph in my car on a mapping run its 210+ I aint likeing the sound of .

Clutch is completed , inner arches fitted & under tray on.
Weather was fine/cold so we went out for a bit of mapping. Managed to get 2.4 bar & within 3% of Dyno ignition but didnt want to take risks beyond sheer stupidity on the road , not good on the nerves with that Power.
We skirted on the edge of grip, never had that off Nitrous before so a lot of Power has been released. 780/800 is probably what the new Turbo is capable of on pump & I guess we are 60/80 down on that at the mo.
The GTX42 is certainly different in its delivery a constant smooth surge & not a frantic hit. Probably at 5k before it hits full boost but OK from 4.6k.
Had the usual trouble of being unable to hear when to change gear as Power is relentless & is not tailing off. The shift lights all seem to light up at the same time & need adjusting. Changed when i thought was correct & from the data log my average change was 8850rpm .
We are hopeing for a dry day & less traffic to finish off. Then its on to race fuel & another 70/80 horses should be serious stuff.
May buy my Race fuel tomorrow not yet decided & then we can run.
May have an attempt on the off Nitrous record very soon, want to see that at 206/208 mph.

Rod have you ever come across anything on the road that you can't spank? got to be loopy fast now!!
Would be good to see a video against a "normally fast" car just to get an impression as to just how stupid it is.

Its isnt like that 2 cars with over 850bhp cant race imagine the speeds reached . Races on the street need to have a quick winner or death/prison will follow .
Im sure you have seen this video. Its Yum with 440bhp against mine with circa 700bhp & yes he was drivin the bollocks off his car , its all over in 2 secs . Ive around 150 more horses now.

Brilliant news rod but can I ask this without sounding like a cheeky bastard.but what did you do for a living to be fortunate enough to build such a car? (I await to be told to fook off ) lol

It may seem i dont work to a budget sometimes but i do & from May 2011 my budget is for Running & Maintaining my car not to continue the development for more Power. Its bl**dy annoying that Turbo Technology is taking off & im sure lots more Power will be found with better spool.
The Missus will kill me if i waver on that end date but i am considering more development because my son has suggested 50/50 share of costs & i wish he hadnt .

Got to admit im being side tracked at the minute because im involved in producing a book about my car. Have found 14 Mag articles so far that ive been involved in over the years & have contacted a mag who i an sure did another they are looking in back issues. 5th gear stills & totb stills are also being sourced.
It will be published but wont be made available to the public its just for me & a few friends really. It will be full colour & hardbacked & look good on my bookshelf when im even older, fatter & balder .

Thanks for the insite into what you did for a living sounds like a very interesting career.I think it would be a shame if you stopped development.but I'd say you also need to enjoy the car

Brought the car home today mainly rush hour so no heroics. The car will go in to X-Sport tomorrow for a full nut & bolt & also re-fit the door bars & put in the race fuel. Shes ready to rumble but off Nitrous. At 2.5bar of boost & safe ignition will see what it does. The aim is to run a 206/207 off Nitrous if thats achieved then 213/214 should be possible on the gas. If the current record is beaten off gas i will settle for that . The bad news is im going to have a shot myself. I was fine until i decided i wanted a bash at the record, im nervous already & its at times like this i wish i was many years younger .

Its not really a goer. Mind you all the SCS & other rival tuners could buy a copy & burn it . Mind you they dont believe the facts about my car anyway so im told .

All MAD customers are broke Mark has all their money. Its down to cost to publish what i want with hardback & premium paper is expensive.

what are you hoping for in regards of speed being hit at the mile marker, any predictions?
also you have spoken before about tyre widths and how wider tyres will hurt in aerodynamics and friction.
My thoughts are running wider tyres on the front will allow for harder braking due to increased grip hence being able to brake later at the end of the run.
Do you think this will out way the aero benefits or not?
in regards of that have you decided what size to run on the front?

I hope i am a good enough friend to be put down for a book i would love it to show the boy in years to come and tell him the stories of a little man i once knew from a planet called MAD

I am sure they would love to read all about a car that does the impossible and smashes all records

We will run our normal 205/40/17 on the front & 235/40/18 on the back.
Its lower gearing than before but we can rev far higher 8.4k is 216.1mph more than enough.
We are not trying to run 220mph so the last nth can be forgotten on this run.
We will have GPS in the car because we believe we will have to brake before the gate, its OK for those Lambo's & Ferrari's prancing along in the low 180's they can stop in .2mile but we cant .

This is a fresh slate we have no idea how this engine is going to perform we have never had it above 170ish it may only do 171 who knows.

my thoughts werent on diameter of the tyres to affect gearing, more on pure grip for later braking.
obviously the lambos&ferraris are travelling at a slower speed but there shorter braking distance can also be attributed to wider tyres.
do you find you are braking right at the edge of adhesion at the end of the run or do you give yourself a bit of breathing space hence can get away with 205 tyres.
just thinking as i was compemplating running my skiny 235 road tyres or my 265 semi cut slicks on the front for later braking

May sound stupid but have you considered putting a paarachute on the back just in case? Don't have to use it, but better than ploughing in the cars etc at the end of brunters if you get a little brave on the gas!
#515
Yes we have and the advice is it needs a fair bit of testing or you end up like that Lambo the parachute taking the car up instead of slowing you down. Its not worth the time and effort and i would not wish to mod the car. We always stop before the bend at the end. Stopping from 200mph is an aquired taste and i personally managed to reach 200mph on my fourth run down Brunters its surprising how early you brake if its your first attempt the will to live is a big decider .

The car went to X-Sport for a nut & bolt check. He found one problem no fuel cap a complete idiot had put fuel in yesterday & left the cap somewhere what a donkey .
Race fuel is in & all is ready to go. Will be there again tomorrow to finish off my check list. All we need now is to pass the noise test & some decent weather .
No idea what it will do as its almost 5years since the last run.
