Discovers my violent shaking was down to a completely obliterated centre prop bearing/rubber. Less than 1000 mile old too, whoops.
I've replaced that now, also got new drive shafts to go on and rewrapped the tailpipe!
Hopefully it'll be mobile again tomorrow and in for mot next week.

Slight update. She has new shafts on, new propshaft centre bearing on and we have nearly completed a hydraulic clutch conversion.
I have loads of pics but I'm using the app and it doesn't seem to want to work properly!

Yeah, it's brilliant. I got in it today after driving my clio and it's lighter than the clio! It was hideous before, my mates mrs tried to drive it and when she put her foot on the clutch it stayed still and she lifted out of the seat! Haha

She's had a cough at full boost for a while now, and it's been getting worse, we thought we'd fixed it by re-gapping the crank sensor but it was still playing up, so in preparation for classic ford this weekend, we have been through it with a fine tooth comb tonight!!
We found,
The main engine bay earthing point was loose
Vacuum hoses off
Dump valve had worked loose
Idle control valve wires broken
Plenum gasket was fubar
And a water leak at the turbo.
Whoops, been a late one, but it's fixed, and fuck me is it going well now!!!
If there's not a timing slip with an 11 on this weekend I will scream.

Had a good weekend at classic ford, utter shite on the strip though, my mate ran it Saturday afternoon and we soon discovered something I've suspected for a while, my gearbox is shit.
Will not let you change gear in any sort of swift manor, it's literally 2 seconds per change. So that fucked any decent times up completely, didn't bother running Sunday due to this.
Smoke em!

No mate, 12.2 is it's best last year, not running full boost, poor start and a misfire/shutdown towards the end! So it should be capable of doing one. Was a similar spec one there this year, slightly more power, but he ran an 11.7 iirc.

Shame about the gearbox mate,
That 4x4 saff that was running 11.7 quarters, he did manage one 11.4 run on Sunday.
That burnout pic is awesome!

Did he? I've read the 6 speed isn't as good as the 5 but my mate who's big on bmw's says he's never heard of a 5 speed fail.
Is stick with the t5 if it would actually let me select gears!

Yeah I guess some have more to waste. What's up with your t5 when you say it won't select gears do you mean as in a syncro gone and and it grinds and won't go in gear. Or it physically won't select like it has a bent fork or something

It won't be rushed. It just will not go in gear, no grinding, however hard you try it won't go until the engines come back to idle.
Got a few things to look at, couple of ideas to try.
Box has never been right since I've had it, it is rebuilt and had uprated mustang synchro's and selectors in it.

Sounds an odd one if it selects the gears there's no fault with the forks. Sounds like it's bulking up and the bulk ring is un able to move between gears with drive to the box. Maybe a simple fix if the forks bearings and syncros are all ok could be worth getting it re built
