Me and Rex had a small play today on the car .We have put the motor back in to do some more working out



The mane am was to try to get the front end some were close to set up / steering and its all starting to look good at last the rack has now got 2 spacers in it which are about 12mm they are there to limit the steering





All the front shafts are now all so fitted for the mo they are XR4X4 shafts but iv moded them so they work on my car

Jas the will stop full lock of the steering rack
So the tyres dont foul on the fliches at full lock

 

Reduce steering throw and stop the wheels rubbing on things like the chassis legs at a guess.

would doing this reduce the lock on an already shit turning circle lol
but if it needs to be done can you machine me up a pair please Ian

I will mate when you give me a size as the 2wd rack is different to the 4x4 rack wot you have to do is get the front end all togever set the rack to center then get the wheels looking about right by doing the track rod ends then turn the steering till the wheel is just about to hits the chassis and then remesher the rack and that will give you the size spacer you need all so the you need to have the car ride hight set so when you take the sizes its like the car is on the floor not in the air . so when you need them JA/ANDY/DAVE just let me no

ian did you use a escort prop first off? as i tryed one under mine and it was bout the same distance short ,but a sierra 4x4 one fits , any updates also

 

Its been some time now as iv been on holiday / working you wot its like any way iv started doing some small jobs and as all ways getting parts togever for the bild

The head that iv got has 4 bent valves in it as the cam snaped so last week i sent off for the new ones from GGR



I all so won these off EBAY



And all so this tool set to make it a lot simpler to do valve seals



Iv now started working on getting the front bumper nice and strong theres still a long way to go with it but its a start









And iv all so started on the repairs to the rear wing

Yes Dave there going to be tapped and a big alan bolt will fit inside them

Thanks Andy it is a Big bit of kit it will suit the car 100% there was a lot of cracks in it so iv filled it with exspanding foam

Thanks mate i love your van your doing iv put a 1.6 zetec in a van loved every min of doing it we did get a RS 2000 motor for but my mate sold it befor i had chance to get it in there
