Default pro touring mk6

not been on for a while but just started a new project which i am hoping to complete in 3 months, its a mk6 escort gti.story so far.completely stripped and put on my jig.next comes the good bit ,cut out the whole rear floor erea complete with chassie rails (tomorrow)then refit eveything a bit narrower to accomodate the new 10x20 rear wheels with 275x30x20 rubber.sounds easy(i wish)will post some pics as i go.

Hmmmm'''''''''''

20" then 10" wide, on a mk6 escort and sound of things on the back only!
Im lost off.......
Will there be any wheels on the front, cos if you going for the same size, you need to use double power steering racks!
plus one crazy diff ratio!

the reason for cutting the floor out is ,it is imposable to fit the rear wheels with out fat arches.also it would look like an off roader, you will see were im going when i load some pics on.sorry its not a trackday car or cossy powered but just trying to do something a bit different.some say i am a bit mad.

don't think every one is slating ya mate but as I first said, trying to put what your doing into people imaginations is a hard thing, if you want genuin feedback then the pic's will speak volumes.

Doesnt sound all that bad, little over sized imo but still.

I have contemplated the idea of putting Cossie rear quaters and 18's on one of projects and leaving the front standard with 17's.

The way i look at this post is, people look at things different!
and its hard to picture a escort with such cross breed of 20" and 18" wheels dragster look tourcar look... which ever way it is...
No one will know until the pics come through
so good luck with your mad project!

When you've uploaded your pics in photobucket, select them all by ticking the box under each picture, go to the bottom of the page and click generate HTML and IMG tags, then copy and paste the bunch of links under the heading that says generate IMG images for message boards!

looks awsome

i think it needs the exhaust to exit out of the body infront of the back wheels - not under the body like most side exit exhausts, if that makes any sense lol

heres some more pics, the beam after being narrowed, set up wheels bolted on to check clearances between wheel and wheelarch and beam set on adjustable mounts so it can be centred easier.will order some boxsection this week to remake the chassie rails(these now need to be 2" higher due to the bigger diameter wheels)this will allow the car to sit at a normal (lowered 60mm)ride height.

Blimey you've got your work cut out with that one! Should look excellent when done! Are you keeping the standard engine? How is the front suspension set up going to work?
