White S2 project...(C+B shell)...(Update 13/06/2010)
Well after abandoning my resto of G***KWR , I'm starting a new project. I will be rebuiding C&Bs Escort RS Turbo, a much cleaner base than G***KWR. All my previous plans for G***KWR will be going into the new project, so expect something special. Will keep you all up to date on progress as the build takes place.
Below are a few pics i took of my new project...
Pick up...
Home...
Smoothed bay with alloy strut brace...
Smoothed slam panel...
Interior...
Rear strut brace...
Role Cage...
Well heres a few bits ive already got...
Pectel T2 and loom...
Plenty of nuts and bolts...
Green tint pop outs...
Mint Recaros...
Carbon fibre goodies...
I am currently in the middle of stripping the shell in preperation for a respray next month. Numerous trips down Brunters have given the paint work abit of a battering.
Watch this space.

Christian - After all the time you put into this car i can imagine it being quite hard. Having watched this car on the scene for years its great to now own it. A great shell for me to start the build on.

Dont worry, it will be getting something big. Maybe more power than it originally had, but it wont be geared towards topspeed this time.

Nice project mate. Love them in white, still want a white one myself! Nice to see such a legend of a car on the ford seen not just being turned into coke cans. Must be strange for christian to watch to say the least! What are you going to do with the roof? When i see the car at ford fair it had a plate riveted over the sunroof?
Good luck with it all mate

Just a skin as it was brought for my old car without a role cage. I originally only got it because it worked out the cheapest solution to my rusty roof problem. Still dont know whether to go for a full replacement roof, my only worry being that it will loose some of its structural ridgidity. Alot of weight has already been saved my removing the sunroof and carrier, so i would only be saving a small amount by going for the full roof. For now im going to pop the skin on. Still unsure on whether im going to like the 2 tone thing. So i can see if i like the carbon thing without chopping my hole roof out. Will get the car up and running and then maybe look into a few more weight saving options.

i would cut the old roof out just leaving a lip round the edge to bond the new carbon one too. the carbon will be as strong as the tin one and you get too save weight
look at the ag focus its mainly carbon skinned and thats a strong race car
he proved it when he smashed it and barely did any damage

No confirmed plans as yet, as i keep changing my mind on exactly what i route im going to take. What i can confirm is that it will be running on Pectel T2, and WILL be over 300bhp, how much over 300bhp has not been decided yet.

Was up ur way again the beginning of the week, drove past the unit, had plenty of work on so didnt have time to pop in.
Weather is holding things up at the mo. Once the snow clears i can get out and finish stripping the old shell which is blocking the garage. Once the old one is out of the way, new one will be in to the bodyshop for a fresh coat of paint and to have those rear arches sorted. Then i can begin the rebuild, which wont take me long to get the car ready for an engine.
Then things will slow down a little, gotta balance finances between engine and wedding!lol. Selling the Jag though, so that should fund a large chunk of the engine.

Yep will be keeping the interior in. Apart from the cage it will be kept relatively stock. Just a few gauges in the vents, picked to suit the age of the car. All very subtle...i like the standard interior. Even my headunit was picked to look stock...Nakamichi CD-400.
