Mk4 Rs turbo Rep

Mk4 Rs turbo Rep
Ive always wanted a mk4 escort, either Rs turbo or xr3i, so when i spotted a rs turbo replica project on ebay for the right money, i bought it straight away.
It needed a lot of work, but the main thing was that most of the obvious rust had already been sorted on the shell. It started as a Ford Popular, the previous owner has sorted new arches all round, it has rs turbo arches and skirts, smoothed bumpers, spotlights, full remote central locking and alarm, and xr3i seats.
The next day i took a 9 hour round trip, costing roughly £70 to go get it.
Here are some pics from ebay:
My main plans are:
Sort all rust/Weld
Respray in White
S1 Arches
Compomotive alloys
RS2000 engine
Omex launch control
Flocked dash
Basicaly a total re-furb
After getting it home i started to strip it down to the bare shell to find any rust or damage, ready for welding, then the respray.
So far ive stripped out the interior, just need to remove the sound deadening. Removed both bumpers, the old S2 arches and skirts, the lights, slowly working on removing the engine and wiring loom, then il start on the welding.
So far ive found some small patches of rust on the drivers side floor pan, but it will be easily sorted.
Il keep updating as i go on, i'll stick up some photos when i can.
Any comments welcome.
