If am deadly honest, Its not been on a track in the past year, Due to work and not been happy with the car.

The dual intake system has died. So iv got no bottom end power untill the VVT kicks in. And the rear end sits to high. But thats me just been picky.

Few more bits and bobs left to do before am happy to track her. Needs coil overs, and the engine build finished....

Other than that, I love it. its got the torque (when the vvt comes in) and it handles awesome.

Cheers guys,

Me to matt, Just getting every thing else ready before the engine is finnished.

Looking to get the ride high storted, Followed by near brakes, Poss some 6pots on the front, but on the standard st size discs.

Then the cage etc.

AC is now off, Better Airfilter (Cossy K&N), Better tyres, better wheels so on and so forth!

Then ill be on the track, Untill then, she's just a weekend toy, or a dailly when the van brakes down (Like Now)

Update

Been a bit busy with the van at the moment, As iv had to change the engine as it went pop

Anyway, Mean while iv found, having no door cards, and after chopping at every thing, after a while, i was bound to cut my self.

So i made some door cards. Out of plastic, which is lighter than carbon fibre as its a bit thinner.

This is before:

This is the said sheets

And this is after:

Size: 216.6 KB

could do with a polish, but hey, Am sure i will have time in the future.

Did the same on my scooby but out of polycarb. Much better than the edges, plus its needed if you want to hillclimb etc.

Good stuff

Oh, you might wanna try and get hold of a set of manual winders as well, those motors are HEAVY! I just polycarbed and fixed the windows but as its road use you will probs still want them to open

EDIT: Also Nick, woudnt mind enlisting your services for our little MR2 turbo track toy. Its black, and needs one HELL of a mopping!

Matt

Im developing some new c/f parts which will be rediculously light, estimating around 3-5kg for a bonnet (evo8) so the door card will be next to nothing

Off hillclimbing this year with an st170, I'm still trying to find out if I can fit coilovers or not within the regulations, but what's your experience with off the shelf kits you've had on the focus ?

cheers

I've got the MSA bluebook here if you want me to look it up for you. Whats you're concerns? Which class it will land you in. I think as long as you keep it road legal you will be in the road-going class which is quite a nice one. If you change the engine then you're into modified.

Suspension as long as it uses same mountings and fixings count doesent really affect things IIRC.

Cheers Matt, I'll be in road - going series production (from memory). Rules for the class state "suspension must be in same configuration" and that's it. I was thinking of Koni sport dampers with eibach springs, but any advice would be welcome. I need some adjustability with the damping because my wife uses it daily.
