Thanks mate,
I have definitely spent a few hours on it, let alone the cost!
I think the time and effort ive put in means more to me though as although there is a lot done by other people i have done a lot myself, mainly the long winded blood sweat and tears jobs lol
Also learning a whole load of new skills like welding, working a lathe, pillar drill etc and doing things like that, also solving all the little issues you come across doing these kind of builds,
Love it

Thanks mate, glad you enjoy the build thread
No great update as money is being spent going on the lash in Portugal for the next 5 days
But tonight i tapped my oil filter take off and properly sealed the 2 fittings with doughty seals and Wurth super rtv sealer, had to make a small threaded spacer for the oil temp sensor as it bottomed out inside the filter so 10 mins on the lathe had that problem sorted & it's now ready for the oil line plumbing to be done
And also got the flywheel through from Kenny so when im back from the stag doo i will get that fitted again, just have to re check measurements for the concentric slave cylinder clutch set up as it may need altering
It's very light but this is not a road car so should be fine

These type of cars are not road cars meant to last 300,000 miles as you well know and i expect and am aware the there is a lot of parts you would not normally replace on a road car will need replacing on this through it's life

Lol no mate
Wrapped it as tightly and neatly as I could being carefull to leave the stud holes clear, did this the best I could whilst covering the whole piece but went to fit it tonight and the middle section where its bulked up fouled on the engine mount and the nuts would still no clear the wrap and stud!!!
So be warned people!!!
It's do-able I'm sure but to wrap it and leave clear but be very difficult!
So Ł80 roughly down the shitter
Never mind, thought I'd make others aware in case they do the same,
These threads of ours are as much about letting people know the fuck ups we make as it is about showing the successes we have at the same time

Too many posts.. I need a life!!
I done both on mine, coated it at zirotec and then wrapped it situ but used the titanium heat wrap you dont have to spray that stuff.

PassionFord Post Whore!!
The zircotec coating needs airflow over to work so by wrapping it your stopping the coating from working properly.
This is part of the reason I had camcoat do mine, they coat the inside of the manifold aswell as the outside, the inner coat is meant to stop the heat entering the metal (sounds a bit far fetched to me) and as my engines in the boot I don't have any airflow so I will be wrapping it aswell, I bought some titanium gear off eBay this weekend actually.

Thats not what zirotech told me, they said the only problem with wrapping it was if the wrap got wet it could crack the coating.
With it all being in the engine bay wet wasnt a problem.
With both wrap and coating on the manifold you can touch it after driving hard, made a big difference.

I didnt think wrapping it in situ would be very easy so did not even try plus i think i would of still struggled to leave room for the washers and nuts but never mind it's all gone now
I emailed "Zircotec" today and got a reply this evening and including vat and return delivery it is as follows in case anybody wanted to know
For a cosworth 2wd with spacer block and external wastegate pipe like mine
Primary black = Ł244.80
Performance white = Ł342
Performance metallic black = Ł388.80
plus around Ł20 for insured delivery to get it to them.
I did not realize it would be a waste of Ł80 with the wrap or i wouldn't of done it realizing id make this mistake but i do not have a spare Ł400 to get it coated so for now it will get a coat of vht paint and later down the line i will get it coated

A couple more little bits done,
New Earls filter for the turbo oil feed line, doesn't quite line up the p-clips properly so may make a new bracket so they sit parallel lol
Also got the new flywheel bolted on and torqued up along with the clutch and double checked the measurement to see I the concentric hydraulic clutch spacer would need adjusting but its within half a mm so no need
Will get the box bolted back up over the weekend if I get time and back in the car,
Some DEI black 800c manifold paint should turn up today so once the manifold is painted that and the turbo can go back on as well

People have asked me about taking it to shows as a part finished build etc but as i do not have my own trailer it's a bit of a ball ache but i am really looking forward to getting it to the shows etc when its not on track
They are adapters that you fit for different o'ring sizes to suit different fuel rails etc mate as the injectors are designed to fit mant applications

Thanks mate
Always appreciate the kind comments all you guys give on the build

Spent a few hours on the car over the weekend,
Got the box back on and the manifold painted with DEi 800c black mainifold paint, forgot to take pics of that though but looked good,
Had a bit of a set back that I re fitte the external wastegate that Mark @ MK Motorsport re welded for me and when I tried to shut the bonnet I couldn't!!!
The thing stuck up too far by a long shot, I text Mark and asked if it had been jigged up before welding on the new piece and it had so it was not his error so I was scratching my head for a while, but realised I did not have the box fitted when I cut and re angled the pipe last time and I had a chock of wood between the engine sump and cross member which stopped the engine stressing the mounts but which also angled the engine differently to when the box is fitted, so when I fitted the box and the wastegate pipe it fouls on the bonnet!
So just to clarify it was my error and not MK's
So out with the dremel and problem soon solved as the rear of the bonnet has a very deep section between inner an out skin so once the inner skin was removed it cleared no problem,
Not a very good pic but shows what I mean
Looks better than I thought with only the trouser piece and wastegate pipe wrapped
Also found out that due to the different angle with the box fitted that the turbo oil feed filter can not be mounted on the cam cover as that fouls the bonnet also
Need to sort a gear lever surround at some point, I cut the reverse piece off the cradle set up as its not need due to not using lift up reverse, I made a 1 piece rod instead as the standard with lift reverse flexes in the middle as its 2 piece and felt shoddy and weak
Fitted the front shafts and front prop but awaiting the M8x1.00 12.9 socket cap heads to bolt it up, just cable tied together at the moment to measure bolt length needed
I didn't fit the inner circlips on the front shafts due to them being so difficult to remove later if needed, anyone see an issue with this?
The shaft lengths etc will be double checked once geo is done so shafts should not pull out at all
Rear prop fitted and bolted up
Gearbox mount in but this will be chopped up and modded to sit the exhaust higher up rather than passing underneath the bar as it would have to if left as it is now
Lastly a cool pic I took the other day after re fitting the engine
Transformer style
Thanks
Marc
