Coming along great Andrew cheers for the update, rear turrets and cage is a work of art, what's left to add to the rear cage? Harness bars and cross brace?
I will try and get up to you before xmas while I'm off so we can get the seat, steering column and pedal box positioning sorted and sort you
out a bit of money
thanks marc

ahh, Couldn't you just buy 2 more then for the rears? Looking well good, can't wait to see it when its done... staying road legal I take it? Or is it just purely for track.
Going to be one of the best in 2010, without a doubt!

ive got a full set of 8x18 with r888's rad which Andrews using to get the shell rolling, so may just source a pair of 9's for the rear in future if needed,
not sure if its going to be ready in 2010 mate, as you can imagine im not after the usual 350bhp engine and running gear so its going to take some saving unless i win the lottery

What is the car going to be used for? is their any need for some of the mods if its still going to be a road vehicle
Its hard to draw the line as to what exactly is good enough for its purpose, ie suspension, running gear, engine spec it is so easy to get carried away and the cost mounts up very quickly, im in the same boat with my build, but ive drawn a line.

As far as what it is going to be used for i dont plan on this being a show car but i just dont have the funds to exchange paint with people everytime i take it out so the best bet for me is sprints and hillclimb i think purely to be doing something more than just a trackday with no real purpose for the car, as im the only one involved at anyone time and i push myself on each event on these without worrying about getting taken out by someone else,
plus a lot of sprints are held at airfields and the like so there really a nice easy start to a timed competitive event
And with the road car side of it i think putting tax and mot on the car although it may seem a waste for 90% of the year really helps when your tuner and suspension set up guy is 5 mins down the road and you need it looked over etc, also im no show go'er but for the likes of pod etc i like to arrive and drive sometimes

I agree mate,
My project is still going to be a fine day car for the road if you like, and track use, i did think on the Group A setup but now i cant justify the price and for what real benifit will i get from Good Group N equipment To A for what the car will be used for.

cheers mate
the reason i have gone for a set up like the group a/wrc and Andrews focus is because i was starting from scratch with the rear end suspension, i could chose any route and after getting quotes and opinions from 4-5 different firms they all said the same thing that one of the worst parts about the cossie was the rear beam so why on earth build a car from scratch and use it!
i didn't plan on going full grp a/wrc rear hubs but Andrew agreed to supply them whilst quoting for the rest of the work as it made life easier so i wasn't going to say no! but i agree with you on drawing a line as i did ask about running a full grp a/wrc front end but the cost of the uprights/tca's and shafts etc over grp n billy's etc just couldn't be justified on my car for the purpose of track days and sprints etc,
what else do you see as overkill on my car mate out of interest and il give you the reason why i went with it. not a dig i know but i like to give the reason

Its not the overkill part mate, initially i wasnt sure if it was goint to be a road car, you have now cleared that up.
I agree on the rear end thats an issue ive got, couple of option tho is danny b new cradle set up that utilises original points, will need some small mods i think to fit but nothing major, or i think martin has something in pipeline, may go for Danny B adrenaline as it under testing as we speak.
Im unsure on my suspension also, was fucked about with a guy from holland for 3 way proflex dampers, but The new Avo mono 3 ways look a good kit and well priced for new equipment.well see into the new year.
