I really do not see what the point of this pm was fella! But if that is the only kind of comments you have about the car/project then I would appreciate it if you keep your opinions to yourself please
Andrew done a lot of work on the car, it is not your average cosworth 4x4 conversion, alot of parts were included in the price above,
2 10 bar fuel pumps
Custon Fuel tank and straps
Vibra technics gearbox and engine mounts
Prop supplied shortened and balanced
New pro alloy rad and cooler
Group a uprights
Grp a bearing adapters
4 eccentric alloy top mounts
That's just some of the parts supplied,
I was also paying for Andrews experience of how these things should be built, with correct driveshaft angle, tca angles etc, he has a wealth of experience in building race winning cars,
And Andrews price was a he'll of slot cheaper than anyone else I got a quote from, and after all is said and done I am more than happy with the results, the service and what I paid for what I got.
As for fitting the kit, well yes that is gonna be some hard work as far is Gaz is concerned but I am confident that it us in capable hands as you say, but I was already aware these Motorsport panels/kits are far from perfect and I am happy with that and know that Gaz will get it as good as it can be
The work you have done on beefy's car looks great and I can see why beefy is so chuffed with the outcome so far
But at the end of the day I would not dream of pm'ing you or him or anyone else just to tell them someone's else work was shit and overpriced etc it's just fucking rude mate!

PM or not you just dont send that kind of thing. Keep your thoughts to yourself in future and maybe go out and build yourself something with half as much potential as this has.
#1534
Sorry K but regardless of Pm or not why send It in the first place was my point! Was it just to big yourself up or what? What were you expecting from that pm?
"Hi mate thanks for your kind comments saying the cars shit, and built to a very poor standard and horrendously over priced
if you want to slate it some more then feel free to pm me or post on here,
Thanks
Marc

Either way let's leave it there ay but in future if you have positive comments then great feel free to post them etc but if you don't like what you see or just want to put it down then that's fine but please keep it to yourself like most normal people do.
Thanks
Marc
Thanks

Bodywork update
It has been decided and the color is going to be Moonland Matallic grey thanks for all your opinions, these pictures finally decided it for me though
Looks awesome
Gaz did admittedly say that even though i sent him a load of photo's of the car and panels etc before it was sent up to him that he did not realize what work needed to be done to get it to all fit nice, but the very next day he spoke to me and said he had another proper look and it's not a problem, in fact everything i have mentioned that i thought may be a problem he has said won't be lol so although it's no where near as straight forward as say beefy or Richie's car which i never thought it would be, it seems to be no problem what so ever for Gaz.
I have a few pics of the work Gaz has done so far,
I said to Gaz as the car is gonna be track/race use 99% of the time it is gonna get a lot of abuse etc so i was worried that when he bonded on the quarters that after time and abuse they would crack up where joined. So he chose to do some test pieces bonded fiberglass to metal and then filler over that to see how much flex etc it had before cracking up,
Well i have no idea what stuff he used in the end but here is a couple of pics of the test pieces
bonding fiberglass to metal
then the flexible filler over the top of that
After this was done Gaz is now confident there will be no issues with cracking with regards to where the quarter panels are joined on so that is god news, and it's nice to know that he cares enough to try a few different options and test pieces rather than just doing it with any old stuff and hoping it holds up ok.
I had previously cut in half and re bonded & lined up/screwed on the quarter panels to make a half tidy door shut gap so knew that was sort of ok before Gaz made it better but the front wings and bonnet gap's were none existent and this was left to Gaz to make good, i know it's never gonna be as good as a factory built car but i do not expect it to so am more than happy with the gaps on the front end now, especially now i am using a genuine bonnet
Passenger side lined up now
Quarter to door gap passenger side
front wing to A pillar and door gaps passenger side
Gaz is gonna fill in the old holes where the wings were bolted on and re drill just the new holes that he has used to line the panels up in the photo's, that way when i take off the front end, wings, bonnet and bumper etc it will be a lot easier to put it all back on in the right place with good gaps, Also on these fiesta's the doors lift off the hinges so i can completely remove all these parts when doing any major work on the car without and real hassle
Next up was the boot lid, there were a couple of dents and the welded up hole where the boot lock used to be that needed repairing so that has now been done, just needs the old windscreen bonding removing round the window frame and it is pretty much ready
The holes for boot pins will be done later when the panels have been lined up for a last check before paint so i do not have to drill a freshly painted panel
Next up is the bonding on of the rear quarter panel on the passenger side, all the small gaps where it joins the door shut have previously been addressed by Gaz so it's all good to go on and fit nice,
Removed ready for a lick of paint
Some people will say it is pointless but i asked for the inner quarter that will never be seen to be painted the new color as well, i know it won't be seen but i will know that under there it is still white when everything else is moonland metallic, so Gaz being the ever helpful chap he is said no problem at all and gave it a quick dusting for me
Then it was time for the bonding of the panel, all lined up & in place and clamped so it can be left to set
So that is 1 side of the car done as far as panel gapping and fitting is concerned
Also i found out much to my delight that Gaz is doing the whole car inside, outside, underneath in base coat and lacquer, where as before other people i got quotes from where not going to lacquer the inside as it would be too difficult but not a problem for Gaz, all in a days work for this man
Thanks for a top effort mate

Great Progress on the shell
After so long with no real pictures of the shell stripped you seem to forget the fab work that went into it .
I think it look's pure motorsport and hopefully get a chance to look round it at a show some time

Thanks guys
Twins - pop over any time mate, just keep an eye on here for when it's back
Beefy - i am not sure yet mate, it may be being collected for me in a fully enclosed trailer, so will know a bit later down the line.
Thanks for the rest of the comments guys

Another update on the bodywork from Gaz
Other inner rear quarter has been given a lick of paint
Rear quarter clamped in place so the bonding can set
Gaz cut out the small area's in the rear bumper,
You can just make the left one out in this pic before it's been cut out, it's marked with black pen
Once cut out
There is 1 either side and i am gonna mesh them, could of left them filled in but i thought the bumper may act a bit like a chute due to its size, so even these tiny little holes may give the air somewhere to get out
Then he started on the doors, these were from a breakers yard so unfortunately they had quite a few dents and dings, but no problem for him to sort
Then the most worrying part for Gaz was getting the front end all lined up nice, especially the bonnet to bumper where it sits over the small ears of the bumper either side of the grill (not fitted in pics) as when i dropped the car off this was miles out and Gaz didn't think it would sit nice without building these bits up with filler etc to meet the bonnet but it has turned out spot on so well chuffed with that, will try and get a pic off Gaz with the grill fitted as well
Once that was done i had left it to Gaz to drill the bonnet pin holes, i almost done this myself and then remembered once he had lined the front end up the holes would be in a different place, so the pins will be located here next to the lights as they fit perfect without having to make any mounts or brackets
Then once drilled and fitted
The boot pins will be done the same once it is aligned for the final time,
Lastly for this update,
The passenger side rear quarter bonding had set so it was given a skim etc to blend it in ready to be fully rubbed down and prepped, but it looks pukka already,
I was a little concerned about how these would fit after final fettling but looking at these pics i think it's turning out a lot better than i was expecting so i am well happy so far
Thanks

I have about 85% of the parts but the last 15% is the most expensive lol AP's front and rear, uprated diffs and box and electrics mainly,
My initial realistic on the road date is roughly this time next year so i am ahead of schedule as far as i am concerned so happy with that,
Ford fair would be a nice 1st outing

I know weight is key, but without spending mega money on carbon panels there is no quick way to lose a lot of weight, i am happy for it to be heavy and get it on the road sooner. But in the end game i would love full carbon doors, boot and bonnet as i think that would save nearly 40kg's but would cost roughly £2400 to buy so fook that right now lol

Too many posts.. I need a life!!
That's not a bad wieght sometimes a bit of weight helps to keep the car planted in the corners.
Its gonna look nice when its done, atention to detail is second to none.
Keep us updated mate.

I have most of the parts for the engine but still the bits i need come to about 3 odd grand!
Parts to complete the full engine so it is ready for the dyno are listed below
Pistons £650
Oil pump £250
Bearings + little end bushes £200
All seals and gaskets £200
Gt3071 or Gt3076 (not too sure yet) £1000
Aeroquip fittings for turbo/breather etc £300
T6 ecu and loom (which FMS already has sat there for me to one side) £1350
So that little lot is about £3950
It is never ending, but i want to do the engine once only, i don't mind putting in shit diffs and boxes to get it running as i can just swap them over easily.
