hi all just wonderd if any 1 had any ideas a friend of mine has put a 2.3 16v out a granada in to his sierra running a rs2000 ecu its all running idle's fine but it seems to be overfueling? and when you put the throttle down it spits and splutters like its being starved of fuel,so its seems to rich on idle and lean on throttle he is a mechanic and tryed all sorts but still nothing,i thought it might have been his tps wired backwards or something
so if any 1 has any ideas give me a shout
thx all

Here in germany there are some people doing that kind of conversion...
They take a 2,3l block and put on the cylinderhead of the RS2000... including camshafts and injectors. With the RS2000 ECU it should run without ny problems...

Small Cosworth FPR and a SuperChiped RS2000 ECU and it'll run well enough.
EDIT- also sounds like your coil packs are fooked.

He means a fuel pressure regulator from a small turbo escort cosworth. Sounds like you have a few problems mate and i hope you get it sorted. Did he remove the balance shafts from the 2.3 lump?
The rs2000 ecu will take a fault code reader and should tell you all you need to know.

I dont think you'll get the RS2K fuel rail onto your scorpio due to having different inlet set up etc
So in that case I would chose to run a after market adjustable FPR such as this -

I don't know that manufacturer but people here will give you advcice regards best products etc

The guy who wrote that thread on FSOC helped me get my 2.0 16V running. The scorpio injectors won't work properly with the RS2K ecu, can't remember why, but take my word for it. The RS ecu needs the RS injectors. The RS ecu is designed to run with 2 Hegos, unlike the scorpio, but they'll take car of the fuelling issue. Personally, I wouldn't have used the RS head, the Scorpio one flows better round the valve seats (proven) and the water ways are designed for RWD. On FSOC, we all used Scorpio heads, with either the 2.3 inlet (prone to cracking) or the 2.0 VIS inlet, which is a very well designed piece of kit. You need a stand alone RPM switch to run the VIS properly, but it's worth it, the thing will fly. This is my thread for my old car before I changed to the new chassis

All you need to do is substitute the 2.0 block for your 2.3, which is what Marty done. If you remove the balance shafts and plug the oil ways for them, you release a bit more power.
As for your stuttering problems, I'd say you got shafted coil packs. They get hot and degrade, and the same is of the wiring for them. Good luck

i have a similar prob, have a mk4 escort/ mk5 rs2000 engine which i have done myself. have no cat or pas and is run on permanent fuel pump (rs turbo pump mfi) ive done over 500 miles and its been fun for that short period.
but now all of a sudden its heavilly miss firing and poppin and cuts out if you take foot off acceleration peddle. ive changed the spark plus, coil packs plus rewired the coil packs and its still doing this. spark plugs 1 and 2 are still clean like brand new and they look like they have not been used but spark plugs 3 and 4 are black like they are.
any body got any ideas as ive had mechanics say they cant help me

Were the coils you used new or second hand? Cylinders 1 and 4 run together and 2 and 3 run together, so for cylinders 3 and 4 to be fouling, I'd say you got a coil problem. Daft question, but you have got the coils wired in ok. I wired 1 and 2 together when I first did mine (was a mistake honest) and it run like a bag of poo.
