Well, if you believe what you read on sites, then fairly rare. they made topaz blue GTI's for 6 months between 1989 and 1990

so all should be on G plate FROM WHAT IVE BEEN led to believe reading the 205 site

and to have one without a sunroof.. well standard GTI had a sunroof, so someone at the time of buying it had to order a special one without it..

mine is the only non sunroof topaz car ive seen.. although i do know of one or two other GTis in this colour around my area. but not sure if they have sunroof or not.

cool mate.. Topaz blue paint does fade sadly!

wouldn't take a huge amount to get that lookin better.
you can still buy all the plastic trim round the car and the red strips with all the mounting clips brand new (£240 i think)

that and some elbow grease and it'd look very good!

www.205gtidrivers.com there are all the people you need on there!

rear beams are a bit of an issue,, but once rebuilt once, they are good for another 20 years... so its £250 well spent.

EDIT: and this site has all the spare body parts and engine parts you will need!

Dragged the car out of winter hybernation lol

took all the kit off it and washed and polished it everywhere.
then put all new black plastic kit on it, new red stripe and all new trim clips to hold it all on with..

New kit going back on after cleaning.

yeah its all mapped. it makes 180bhp. engine is standard internals and head (150bhp standard) so the throttle bodies have made 30bhp. which i'd say is fairly realistic.

If i do another engine for it, it'll be higher comp, rev harder and have big cams in to get 200.. but current engine has only done about 6k miles. so unless i kill it on track this year, it'll be a while yet.

awesome mate thats a nice power output there i reckon you could break 200 with cams, higher compression and some headwork, i spent a small fortune on my old mg zr which i got to 192bhp on jenveys, 285s, high comp pistons etc etc. was a real weapon and sounded the nuts
