My 205-Mi16- Jenveys Etc - Road and track car project
Must be bored! here it is so far.
Had a 4x4 cos.. loved it,, someone offered me lots of money,
and i wanted to do track days,, so sold it.
got a 205.. rare-ish topaz blue, non sunroof 1900.
from a man..... in wales. lol
tracked it
put big brakes and better suspension on it
tracked it some more. but lower to the floor lol

blew it up,, round combe
so i then created this.
this lasted a short while.. before..
blew up.. some how one of the skirts came away from the rest of the piston at high RPM..
bit of devistation from this failure..
SO!
built one of these... again lol
which has stayed in the car, ever since!
these arrived one day.. so fitted them up

which pretty much brings me up to date
20 years of use looked like it has taken its toll on the floor. this was the worst bit.. thankfully these old pugs dont really rust.. this looked to be a bodge garage repair from years ago.
So ripped everything out, and sent it away,,
and its now pretty much ready to be painted on the inside again..

couple of other pics i found
when we had the whole back end off putting the new beam on..
and we did away with the usual rubber rear suspension mounts...
and replaced them with nice forgiving (i dont think lol) shiny ali ones. lol
this makes the back end of the car really quite stiff..

just before the lacquer went on
You can see the plate ive had put over where the rear seat used to go.. this will have the swirl pot and 2nd fuel pump
mounted to it.
and some other random ones i just saw on my photobucket account..
front brakes look quite big in this pic.. for a little car and you can see the oil cooler mounted just behind the bumper too (it now has its own cutout in the bumper)

can see the little cut out i did in the front bumper, to give air flow to the oil cooler.
seems to work ok.. oil temps go to somewhere between 95 and 110 on track. depending on ambient temps.
so thats just about right.

just about back together now,
just gotta go get the fuel pump and then it can be piped up to the swirl pot.
just to keep it semi tidy i decided to re-new the side carpet bits too.

Progress is really quite slow at the moment, as ive been away in Manchester for work this week.
BUT, got a fuel pump yesterday so now setting about mounting the pump and swirl pot.
pretty much decided these are the positions they will be in.
bit of an effort in this weather! LOL
just need bolting down, and the pipes and wires conecting up.
Edit:
1/2 done.. looks a bit messy, but will be tidier when complete.

also just noticed you havent got any filter before or after the second pump
HIGHLY recommended, especially as there could be swarf in the swirl pot

Yours is a bit more thorough than mine in terms of track preperation, mine is more or less just a standard car with a little more power and some sticky tyres, so Im sure you will win, but yeah it would be good fun having someone out there to tussle with.
Spikey would be a good one for you to aim for though, his goes very well
