PassionFord Post Whore!!
Like I said mate on the Phone
Going to have to upgrade the injectors to reach the bhp figures you want.
also a Lsd gearbox will help alot.
Should be interesting to see where the car is now once you get it RR.
That way you know what to upgrade make sure the lump healthy.

cheers ram mate. After speaking with few people, seems the beige ones will be on the limit with where im probably going to go with the car, so have to re-think on the injector front. As for the resto.....got a CD full of photo's of the restoration and i must say i was blow away with the level of detail that went into the car!! It was one of the deciding factors that changed my mind regarding stripping it out and making it into a track orientated car. As much as i would like to, i just cant bring myself to pull it apart like that.
It will be having a fresh engine dropped in however, and the chassis will be tweeked, but reagrding the interior and exterior, that will be being pretty much untouched. Its not ever going to be concours whilst own the car, as its just not my cup of tea, but the car will certainly be well looked after and will want for nothing as any of my cars have.
cheers

yeh mate beiges are maxed out at about 220bhp tops. im just running mine with these and a 195 chip on low boost as i cnt afford to get an ahmed chip and cossie injectors. would rather save up abit more and go full cossie management. what sort of chip & injectors you planning on running?

EPIC FAIL!!!
Right then, sent my car in this morning to be diagnosed, setup and replacement parts where required for its running issues. The bloke I took it to is local bloke, but has (had) a reasonable reputation. Gues there would be no harm in him having a look and seeing if he can work his magic......
Dropped the car off at 8.30 this morning, running fine albeit with it hesitation whilst of boost and idle problem. Left the car with him and told him to give me a shout once the car was ready for picking up. Anyhow heard nothing all day till i phoned him at half time ddring the united match (come on you reeeeeds). Said he had checked a few things but the ECU wouldnt let him in and he was purely using the exhaust probe to try and find the issue. No problem i though. Anyhow, come 4 o'clock, i get call to say he has done all he can and to come collect the car. Get to his garage, where he tells me he hasnt really been able to do a deal but has found the reason for the hesitation (lack of fuel on initial throttle response). Bit cheesed off really to say he has the car all day, but he only charged me one hours labour £45.69. Start the car, let warm up whilst disccussing possible solutions to the problem, then set off my way home. As i drive, its still flat at the bottom and delayed throttle response is still evident, but the boost problem seems to be sorted. Boosts nicely to 9psi in all gears HOWEVER, and i do mean HOWEVER!!! As i pull up to a set of lights i notice a touch of blue smoke at the back of the car.......hmmm wasnt ever there before, possibly the car next to me. Continue driving but keep noticing a nice touch of blue smoke coming out the back of the car Now, to say this in polite manner would be best, so here goes...
'WHAT A F&$£ING W@NKER'
Pulled up at my mates and told him to have a look out the back, car smokes slightly on tickover and more so when the car has been revved and is coming back down the revs
I can only assume that the muppet who took the car out has given it some cainage and somthing is letting go. Not had a feel of the shaft in the turbo yet for play, but im pretty sure its going to be seals gone in there
So as it stands now, the car is being taken off the road. Im going to be building a a new engine for it using the good old 2.0 zetec bottom end and the stage 3 head i have. Hopefully sorted the zetec block this afternoon, so going to make a start immediately.
Really gutted as things some to be going from bad to worse, but im not one to give up, and will make sure it gets everything it needs to be perfect again
Keep an eye out for updates
cheers, kev

Well Kev i'm glad to hear you bought the car from Mark
Sorry to hear that you've had the dreaded problems when you buy a new RS, just a little information that the turbo fitted to that car is a hybrid and had less than 1000 miles on it when i sold it to Mark.
The car is well know or used to be to the North staffs group and before my ownership had all it's original panels including the fuel cap which had been lead loaded by moorland classics. The car was then bought by streetdragster from Blackpool way where it was fitted with a zetec engine and ran big power hence why the front panel was cut out.
The radiator is always a issue when fitting a T3 but if yours smacked the rad then it's more to with the gearbox mounts so they're a must job on a fiesta to fit vibrotechnics.
Do you still have Marks number mate as i lost it when i changed phones??
Heres what it looked like before i bought it

cheers brammer mate, got the CD with the build pics mate, absolutely tip top. Got some vibrateknic mounts ready for the new engine. Not had the inlet boost hose off yet to check for play, but got a feeling the seals have gone in the turbo.
Not too sure what power to go for, but will probably be mid 250 to 300 bhp i think. PM's marks number mate

Bit of an update people. Not managed to get down to collect my engine as the van i was borrowing from work was in for a service over the weekend but not to worry. Been busy getting my new 'Workshop' ready for stripping down the zetec engine and then building back up once have back from the machine shop Now when i say 'workshop' i actually mean my mum's summerhouse Not ideal admittedly, however i have an compressor in there, electric, plenty of space, and most importantly a fridge full of 'bevvies'
As said earlier, i have got the zetec engine sorted, and have the head here already with the newman cam and solid lifters. Bought a ZVH conversion kit of fleabay for £125 which comes with:
Felpro Headgasket
Headbolts
Brass Gallary Bungs for oil way on block
Water pump conversion Plate
1.3 Tensioner
Breather Bung (for original zetec breather)
Oil Return and Breather Fittings
On the rods and piston front, im going to see what Ian can sort for me
Before the clearout
Nice and tidy and ready to get my hands dirty
Engine being collected next weekend along with an engine stand and will start stripping down the zetec ready for the machine shop
