My S2 Project!!
Hi Everyone!
Basicly i brough this car halfway through last year and i had to wait 3 months for my years no claims so i could get insured on it! Finally the time came to insure it and i had it on the road a week and a horrible rattling noise was coming from the engine! After having a few people looking at it, it was 2 things; 1st being the hydraulic lifters were buggered and so was the cam and 2nd that the big ends had gone!! I was gutted!! But anyway to start off with i brought a kent cam kit and vernier pully and fitted that. Then after beein gutted for a few days thought i better get the engine out! After doing this i striped all the interior out as it was a good time to get all the welding done, being the battery tray and the drivers and passengers footwells.
My car (red) before the nightmare!! lol
Engine out!
Rotten buy the servo brackets!
Battery tray has been done before but to a very poor standard!
Passenger footwell! ROTTEN!
Few pics after welding!
After having this done im now just in the process of having the engine bay painted! So its all nice and shiney!
Next thing was i sent the head off to Cylinder Head Development to have a Stage 2 Big Valve Head. Got it back last week, pics speak for themselves...Andy Weston - Ledge!!
Also decided to fit the rear disc convertion;
Next thing to do is order all the bits for the bottom end rebuild. A quick list of what the spec is going to be;
Accralite + 1.0 forged pistons
Farndon steel h section rods
Standard size crank
Heavy duty bearings
ARP bolts all round
New water pump oil pump etc.
All new gaskets
Cometic multi layered head gasket
And all other little bits and bobs!
More updates to come when i can be arsed to order everything and get building!!
CheeRS!
