apologies to all that thought it was going the journey , but it was a chuckle lol
started on the kit prep today ,
brand new standard 5 bar mk 3 grille , ive got an s1 grille but i much prefer the 5 bar jobbie ,
and it should be a little diffrent from the norm ,
was lightly sanded , plastic primed , and then spesh primerd it up
first coat
![](http://i685.photobucket.com/albums/vv218/beefcos/grille003.jpg)
and done , drying , ready to go in the escozgaz pile lol
![](http://i685.photobucket.com/albums/vv218/beefcos/grille006.jpg)
started cleaning the inside of the arches , as they will be painted inside and out ,
update tomorrow evening ,

KIT PREP PART 2 - 17-6-11
alright folks
been quite a busy day , have to big up me brother spesh for his help eairler , even treated him to a new spray mask lol
anyway , after alot of da'ing got the kit back to bare plastic , the kits been painted numerous times ( i counted three on one arch )
anyway most of it now looks like this
![](http://i685.photobucket.com/albums/vv218/beefcos/updatekitprep17-6-11002.jpg)
![](http://i685.photobucket.com/albums/vv218/beefcos/updatekitprep17-6-11003.jpg)
tis the only way in our opinoin to get a perfect finish on the kit ,
95% was removed with a large da , the smaller areas were a little harder to sort ,
![](http://i685.photobucket.com/albums/vv218/beefcos/updatekitprep17-6-11004.jpg)
so k gave me the mini wah wah and a fiber wheel ,
![](http://i685.photobucket.com/albums/vv218/beefcos/updatekitprep17-6-11005.jpg)
and done
![](http://i685.photobucket.com/albums/vv218/beefcos/updatekitprep17-6-11006.jpg)
and where the arch meets the side skirt
before
![](http://i685.photobucket.com/albums/vv218/beefcos/updatekitprep17-6-11007.jpg)
after![Big Grin](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)
![](http://i685.photobucket.com/albums/vv218/beefcos/updatekitprep17-6-11008.jpg)
drivers front arch
before
![](http://i685.photobucket.com/albums/vv218/beefcos/updatekitprep17-6-11009.jpg)
after
![](http://i685.photobucket.com/albums/vv218/beefcos/updatekitprep17-6-11010.jpg)
front valance

![](http://i685.photobucket.com/albums/vv218/beefcos/updatekitprep17-6-11012.jpg)
as said , its hard work and numbingly boring but to ensure a perfect fit and perfect finish i has to be done lol
will get the rest of the parts started on tomorrow ,and k going to repair any cracks ect before primering
update to follow over the weekend

Good work beef and "K", it's ALL about the prep,
Will save Gaz a shed load of time doing all this work yourself which is always good as he will be finished sooner to start mine![Surprised](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/bigcry.gif)
If i am lucky i may get to see this in the metal once painted soon when i drop my car off to Gaz hopefully in few weeks time

Now then beefsta, hope things are good your end mate, the build looks quality I must say but I wouldn't expect anything less when karls involved pluss yourself, I'll be up soon for a good catch up in the turbo depending on fuel price lol, take it easy pal.
P.s garage looks sweat mate
can't wait to see parts being bolted togeather, uber s1 in the making!

ok my little sausages ,
little bit more done today , all of the arches have been repaired where needed , and sanded ... just need a final clean and 180 before primer
skirts are done ,barring cleaning the srew holes on face of skirt
![](http://i685.photobucket.com/albums/vv218/beefcos/kitupdate19-6-11001.jpg)
inside all cleaned and sanded , as they will be painted aswell
![](http://i685.photobucket.com/albums/vv218/beefcos/kitupdate19-6-11002.jpg)
now the huge debate that is the grill has now been settled !!!
the 5 bar is staying !!
and will be colour matched to the car
![](http://i685.photobucket.com/albums/vv218/beefcos/kitupdate19-6-11003.jpg)
and just for GUS -
![](http://i685.photobucket.com/albums/vv218/beefcos/kitupdate19-6-11004.jpg)

spesh is going to debadge it for me and also trim out the moulded top rows for more cooling
and with that started we turned our attention to anothe lil touch ,
sheet of ally
![](http://i685.photobucket.com/albums/vv218/beefcos/kitupdate19-6-11008.jpg)
the front valance
![](http://i685.photobucket.com/albums/vv218/beefcos/kitupdate19-6-11009.jpg)
take one plasma cutter lol
![](http://i685.photobucket.com/albums/vv218/beefcos/kitupdate19-6-11011.jpg)
and just cut out
![](http://i685.photobucket.com/albums/vv218/beefcos/kitupdate19-6-11012.jpg)
basically its going to be a full brace for the valance , usually they have a tendancy to twist and flex , this should keep the valance nice and square and looing perfect ,
where it will sit
![](http://i685.photobucket.com/albums/vv218/beefcos/kitupdate19-6-11013.jpg)
will be bonded and riveted into position and then primered and painted
ohh and should give a nice firm, platform for the carbon splitter
