ok folks little update for today ,

finall got a bit of time on the car after helping out the other projects in the unit ,

finished off cleaning up the inner wings at the front , removeing the mk front chassis legs ect ,

obviously at this point ive left alot of metal in till i know exaclty where i want to cut ,

then cleaned bk the inner wing so its flush





then once the trusty arbor flap disc had cleaned bk any remaining shite ,
bare metal got a light coeat of etch primer




then done exactly the same on the drivers side ,

then after a nice cuppa ,....

i fired up the sthil saw lol

oops , im shite at magic tricks



was really hoping to get this section of the sierra flor into the garage today to start the measureing and trimming ect , but unfortunatley was other things in the way , with a bit of luck , or better weather outdoors ( was cold and pissy wet ) ill get on with it tomorrow

so got out the trusty da sander and done a bit of shell prep whilst rocking out to the hits of AC/DC !!!!







also a timeout to say a big big thankyou to ANDY ESCOS as he kindly donated this box of sanding discs to the project , he gave me them at ford fair but there getting the use now lol


also thumbs up to anth who jumped on to lend a hand once his shift at b/o had finished ,



said the car will be pukka when its done , and i think hes kinda pissed that he sold me it lol ,

but as i told him , heel be getting the keys thrown at him once its mapped up ,


tomorrow should see work on the sierra floor and the tape measure out lol ,

I agree that alot of people are using comps but they do look the bollocks! simple as mate, just not keen on the other two sets, be hard finding a set of wheels that make the car sit so nice as like the comps do.

granada hubs, assuming you are going to keep it rwd, are going to be a peice of cake to fit mate and will open up the world of big fat rims to suit rather than having to fork out for custom offsets etc

try to photoshop some merc slr rims on it

mk3 granada beef, but not the 4x4 ones even tho they are very rare as esc cos owners want them

the only thing you have to remember when getting the granada hubs is that the fronts will need 4wd sierra struts (thicker) but 2wd normal sierra tca's (castleated nut fitting not pinch bolt types and make sure you use the sierra ones as the granada ones are longer so may give you funny handling issues)

or you could have just run with the funky corrado 80's wheels
