ok guys , update time
only had a few hours today on the car , out with the wife tonight and over time at work tomorrow !
took a rear wheel to the garage for a quick mock up

hub assembly

![](http://i685.photobucket.com/albums/vv218/beefcos/wheelupdate12-11-11004.jpg)
was then mocked into the arch ,

![](http://i685.photobucket.com/albums/vv218/beefcos/wheelupdate12-11-11008.jpg)
daz aka cragrat was up dropping off parts for his 3 door , gave his opinion on the wheel choice
![](http://i685.photobucket.com/albums/vv218/beefcos/wheelupdate12-11-11009.jpg)
barring the shorter coilover bodies , and a remake of the mount bracket we should be fine
![](http://i685.photobucket.com/albums/vv218/beefcos/wheelupdate12-11-11010.jpg)
![](http://i685.photobucket.com/albums/vv218/beefcos/wheelupdate12-11-11012.jpg)

although it does look like we wouldnt have had issues just fitting the turret verticaly , still we have enough clearance between wheel/ shock & shock / car
daz has gave me a loan of a 235/40/ 18 tyre to fit to the 9 j rim , hoping this will give a little of a stretch look ,
dont really want to run a silly super low profile , considering it a road car , slightest pothole and ill be repacing rims![Red Faced](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_redface.gif)
with that looking like its ok , ill get the tyre on , and sat in , then start making up the links
had time to quickly offer in the tanks i got from phil on here that came from fudgeys 3 door project
header / breather combo looks like it will fit a treat , just needing a small bracket for the rear and two rivnuts for the bottom bracket ,
![](http://i685.photobucket.com/albums/vv218/beefcos/wheelupdate12-11-11019.jpg)
can see here the boss for the bolt / bracket
![](http://i685.photobucket.com/albums/vv218/beefcos/wheelupdate12-11-11020.jpg)
spesh at it
![](http://i685.photobucket.com/albums/vv218/beefcos/wheelupdate12-11-11021.jpg)
few more pics , final position not finalised but u get the idea
![](http://i685.photobucket.com/albums/vv218/beefcos/wheelupdate12-11-11023.jpg)

![](http://i685.photobucket.com/albums/vv218/beefcos/wheelupdate12-11-11026.jpg)
as for the washer tank i got aswell , it wont fit where i wanted it to ,
so up in the air wether i use it or not right now , as trying to keep the inner wings free from tanks
loom , wiper linkage , brake servoi assembly and steering colum all going to k's for a refurb and a lick of paint whist im at work then will be fitted to the car ,
totally happy with the wheel choice , wasnt sure on the polished edge bit , but im thinking if we inlay the motorsport engravings with silver or grey it will give the wheel a taller apperance and break up the black a little

Looks like the inner link suspension mounting points may need to be moved up a bit. From the pic it looks like the lower link arms will be horizontal at your ride height. They really need to be at a slight angle, high point at the diff low point at the wheel.

Beefy, when this is finished, it will easily be the BEST ford escort of any type in the country. I can't think of any other car that looks this good and has this performance. My hat is off to you and your mates!

its going to be tight mate , but theres clearance there ...... the camera angle kinda make it look tighter than it is ,
yeah , totally agree rob , k mentioned it aswell , at the mo they look level , really need to get the tyre mounted and try n make something that holds the wheel exactly where we'd like it , its hard to get everything looking right when your balancing the rim on a spool of electrical cable lol ,
