Shell looks like its coming along well, if you get that down to 850kgs I'd say you've done well been that it still retains the oe chassis unlike AG's Focus which is still over a ton.

Does anyone know what Scottys Fiesta weighed ?

Scotties was around 1100kg when it had puma racing seats in it, not sure when he changed the seats for lighter ones.

well it looks like the shells gonna weigh 1000kg , fookin hell i think were gonna have to turn the boost up and hope that the extra 4 injectors and jenvey turbo inlet does the business , as i would like to see a genuine 600+ bhp from the zetec motor . i personally know that we are going to have to machine the block for 12mm head bolts and have some sort of gasket made but when the engine was mapped at harveys at 29 psi it made 484 bhp and at 30psi it made 522bhp so we were still seeing very good gains for every pound of boost being added , it could all end in disaster but if you dont try you will never know , we also might try a bit of race fuel as the engine ran super unleaded on the dyno

does anyone know what sort of bhp gains you get by adding race fuel without changing ignition etc

good question, but on octane boosters I didn't feel a diference. Don't think you will feel anything unless you go for E85

Tbh i think you'll gain little or nothing as the whole point in using race fuel is to be able to chuck more ignition in there.
Very surprised it jumped from 484 to 522 with +1 psi.

me to mate to be honest , we know the turbo was making peak power @ 7000rpm but when we saw the gain with +1 psi i was shocked as ahmed said it was a solid 460bhp engine half way through mapping and we would of carried on if it wasnt for the injectors running out of juice , personally i think it was good for 600bhp that day @ 32psi but it wasnt to be (and running a decent air temp, not the low 15/16 degrees )

i went and ordered my panels on saturday from MDV, not cheap but they are proper carbon/kevler mix and super strong, and come with full rear quarter panels rather than bond on arches so should be ready in about 2 weeks hopefully, will get some pics up in my thread,

well going to see jim on the 12th and he said that the engine mounts , big tunnel , bulkhead finished , rear wheel well cut out and plated over , rear seat frame cut and enlarged for rear diff tunnel . also ordered my jenvey inlet manifold which will have cost me the best part of 1k all in so funds are running low but luckly work has picked up so i will working 7 days a week which means more fundage yeh!. also ordered my sill stands , and cds seat mounts for the next welding jobs , also looking at eccentric top mount for the front and rears. iam going to try and concentrate on the engine and get that all finished. i will need to sort the inlet out when it arrives as ian is machining 4 extra injector ports in to the manifold plate so i will need some welding done and a set of 4 siemans 450cc injectors. there also the of buying a dry sump system which again is the best part of Ł1200 so you can see why things are slow. there is a new exhaust cam to come and a bit of jiggery pockery with the exhaust manifold. iam not total happy with the manifold and need to sort a few things out and if i can afford another wastegate i will make it into a twin scroll manifold. once all this is done its time for a trip to scs to put it back on the dyno and add some more boost as iam hoping to get a genuine 650 bhp @ 35 psi as this would make me really happy and should make the car go well when finished. i will post pics when the inlet arrives

update time , right where do i start first of all my jenvey turbo inlet has turned up with ian howell doing some machining for the 4 extra injector pockets and also by saving me nearly Ł400 cheers matey! . jenvey sent the wrong part without the other 4 injector pockets so ians sending them down when they turn up sometime this week but to say i well chuffed is an understatement , this is a top bit of kit engineering wise so only time will tell if it does the bizz. ive also got to drill and tap vacuum takeoffs , air temp sensor and get a block machined to accept my throttle body. here is how it looks on the engine at the moment.
















and it maybe a zetec turbo but theres some cosworth parts aswell lol



also the bodyshell is starting to get there , went down and took pics but they all turned out to dark so iam going down again this week and it should be welded up so i can take more pics but its looking good.

they are compbrake are they not and i thought they only made them for the mk4 fiesta , fiesta turbos are totally different as they use a different ball joint and are slightly shorter as they dont have power steering
