I cut a few good size holes in the floor getting rid of all the rot but you can never do to much cutting lol ,

im getting there mate still hoping to finish this year .

 

small update i won a tubular manifold off ebay for Ł62 thought at that price its worth a try .

The main reason for trying it is that the group A chassis engine mounts make it very tight on the 2wd manifold its about 5mm which might melt the poly bush,s





the welding is very neat

The quality looks quiet good ,only time will tell if it is any good or not

Get a straight edge on the flanges, most of the cheap ting tong manifolds do need re facing.

Generally other cheap manifolds have worked quite well on other cars as long as their re faced and braced

I have already checked the mating faces for flatness & they look very good & i already use a support on my turbo

 

looks like its well made as well andy well good for 60 odd quid

ceramic coating and wraping ime is what kills the cheap manifolds (and we have alot of boys in the vx world using them LOL)

i would never dream of getting it ceramic coated as that would be 3x dearer than what i paid for the manifold in the first place but i might wrap it just to keep the heat down a bit & de bling it .

 

FATHER CHRISTMAS HAS COME EARLY
I got a very special delivery off a very good friend today .it is a genuine group 5 zakspeed body kit which is on loan so i can take moulds off it so i can have a genuine kit rather than my own kit (which is a bloody good copy )considering i made it by looking at a few pictures the rear arches are almost identical.its a shame scrapping my kit after all the effort in making them but this is an offer i could not turn down .

front wings are longer on the rear section ,the rest is almost identical to mine











how close are they?






i will not be naming the person who lent me the kit unless he comes forward but i owe you big time thanks so much .

Bloody hell that did not take long to work out
he could not afford the wheels to fill the arches these are just over 200mm wide & he can already get a 10" rim in the rear
