just be careful making the engine mount arms in ally Andy, the works cars used a steel arm on the exhaust side and a billey ally on the inlet side.
you can just see them here
I had a set of ally arms (sort of gpa copy type along time ago, they cracked at the welds to the plate on the block after a few gravel rallies, I would bore the block plate and weld the bar inside and out.

tis looking good andy!!
Do you have no steering UJ's inside the car?? Is that why you need the spherical bearings etc??
I suspect i will want to lower my wheel when i strip it and go for low buckets but ive got 2 UJ's in the cabin so i reckon i can easily lower it (and bring it nearer to seat) with minimal changes just cutting off the mount and welding it lower and a bit forward.

i got no uj's in side the car just the one in the engine bay & a spherical bearing mounted in the bulk head but the first one i fitted broke trying to refit it after i welded the housing in to the bulk head but i have found a better quality sealed spherical bearing which is having a new housing made as i am typing this .

Richie phoned me up to see if i had a cossy clutch aligning tool ,which i did not but i could get one in five minutes so i went to the van got my nine inch grinder out & chopped the bell housing off of a old mt75 gear box so i could get as long a section of shaft as possible .
the bonus bit is i had to do this for the skyline gearbox conversion

Many thanks again Andy
Although I find it hard to believe its taken us this long to make one the amount of times we swap and change engines/gearboxes

Great work andy
Have you made gearbox mounts into the tunnel to accept the skyline box or will you modify a cossie one when the time comes?
Do you have the skyline box to mock up the tunnel or have you worked off measurments?

i have not made the gear box x member yet but it will be bolted through the 100mm vertical bit of the tunnel with a load spreading plate which will then be modified to use the same fixing point for the skyline box .i have worked off pictures & measurements to make the tunnel which will be more than big enough to take the skyline box.
