right my mate came round tonight & got all the cage fully welded up
i got to say im well chuffed with the finish of it .

i have to make chassis mounted engine mounts first then paint interior gun metal
underside boot area & engine bay in radiant red ,then i will get back on to the body kit

im happy with how they look next i shall be finishing the trans tunnel tomorrow

When you doing the floor?

 

i should be picking the front section of trans tunnel up in 1/2 hour from bead rollers then i have to fold it up .so i should get the tunnel all done this week end hope fully then its on with the floor.

 

Really nic welding! How thick steel do you use for the gussets please?

 

The car is gonna be immense! Not that it wasn't before! Can't wait to come see it at a couple of the shows when it's finished!
Wish i had even a quarter/eighth of the fabrication skills that you an some others have on here!

im using 1.2mm steel because thats all i had at the time

 

thanks matt im glad you like it ,its took a long time to get it this far but i did have to rebuild a certain cossy KA in between .
But i do intend to get it to a few shows this year
the best way to get good at any thing is just jump in and give it a go the more you do the better you will become , i have been playing on this car for 23-24 yrs now

It looks a bit too far back to me as it is because the weight of the tank will change when in use. The best place to put it is directly in the middle of the wheelbase so that the weight distribution remains the same whether the tank is empty or full.

I agree that it could do with being a bit lower though.
