the quality of some of the projects on here is very high & i knew i could do better with the trans tunnel ,been bugging me for a good while ,the more i looked at it the more it bugged me .richie knew this & worked on me until today.
all for the better after all its only steel .

welded some box across the hole so i can mock the seat position up ,which is a lot better now.
i do enjoy it but it will be so much better .

will not be to long before it starts going back in again for good this time.
as you know with your focos you have to do it as many times as it takes to get it right & your happy with it ,i was not happy with the seat position once the cage was in & the tunnel was annoying me for quiet a while .

 

got mate and your right if its not the way you wont it you will all ways look at it and say why did i not do it at the time ..

ANDY you could not do me a big one could you i need to no the length of a mondeo cam trigger as i can not get to my 3dr at the mo . wot it is i wont to use a focus cam trigger i do no iv got to do some modding to it but its the lenght thats the big E the focus one is 33mm long but i need the no the mondeo size to no if i will be abull to use it . thanks

 

i just measured mine & its 33mm it is black pretty sure it is a mondeo one.

Andy this is wot im going on about using and its looking good the body going down is the same size and now the lengh is the same it just the O ring is smaller and the bolt hole is in a slighty diferent but all that i can sort

alright then dan thanks for the encouragement the floor is 110mm lower ,the tunnel will be tapered from front to back with more angles so it is more rigid & do not distort so much & the underneath will be totally flat .

its not that big did you not see what i done to the rear 1/4 panels

 

Yeah Ive been advised to put a flat floor in mine and it was some thing I was thinking about anyway, just not sure it needs it given theres nothing wrong with what's there. I will watch your progress and probably get inspired to do it anyway (just like how mine started, after reading this thread!).

 

right done a little work on the car yesterday with richie. welded some box across the width of car so i can temp fit seat in to work out where the pedal box fits along with the steering column .i now have plenty of head room .

ill be going to the steel suppliers to get a 8x4 sheet of steel to start fab work .

i got my mate jason around to tig weld up the cage tonight so i should have some pics to put up later on when he is finished .

the throttle pedal was a bit tight to the roll cage base .



so out with the grinder with a 1mm slitting disc



thats it for today i pick up the sheet steel tomorrow .

yes they are steve wish i had the time to learn
the tunnel will be a multi fold job done in two pieces should be a lot better than the last one

as for the seats they came out of shonky version one

they are a very snug comfortable fit .
