Yep, I switched to them in mine. Admitedley I run a VERY light front brake setup so had fading problems. Ive given them a fair beating with the Polymatrix and they seemed OK but really need a long track session where I am suspecting I will need to go bigger.

The Poly A's are the hottest extreme ones they do. You would expect them to be rubbish when cold but they are just fine.

Go for the same 4 pots on the rear with handbrake mech built in.

Eric the Monster Trucks rocks!!!!

I have Stus LandRover with a 97ft lift and silly tyres and no steering WHATSOEVER!!!

It is without any shadow of a doubt the most dangerous vehicle I have ever driven!!!!

It has a V8 on a Carb the Size of Brazil and full race exhaust... so it goes and sounds like something out of Days of Thunder but has the steering response of an Aircraft carrier...

and if you lift off to sharply off the LOUD pedal... (even if you are going in a straightline) it does big scary Tankslappers.

So to conclude. I love Eric the monster truck

and he has a spade in the back... and that makes me feel very manly

LOL

I drove Eric when Stu's sister was moving house and it needed moving.

The V8 engine in fine fettle and working well
Steering, kind of is there, ish
Brakes, not really no

Its just good that if you have a crash, it will probably only be whoever you hit that dies, so it doesnt really matter

Its the original V8 engine, but fully rebuilt and moderately tuned.

Goes ok really, would be a good engine for a kitcar for someone boring who doesnt know what boost is for

Bet its about 200bhp, which isnt shy in an old defender

About that yep. Nothing special at all in Land Rover terms.

Its a 90 originally a 2.25 but I threw that away and fitted the V8.

3.5 Sweet fresh built V8 with Eidelbrock Inlet and Weber 500 Carb. Full stainless tubular headers and system so sounds lovely and goes ok too.

Other than that it has a few bolt on extra guards, roof rack, lots of lights, 2 inch lift kit and some chunky BF Goodrich All Terrains.

Eric is 25 years old this year too and still on its original paint!!! Ive had it for about 8 years now and its just one of those cars you never grow tires of. Great fun to drive and really hand to throw all your cack in or lend to your mates!!

Coool!

A mate of mine is rebuilding a 90 defender on a brand new chassis. Hes got an audi 4.2l ABZ motor lying in the shed to go in it.

That should be interesting! 300bhp and less wheelbase than a nova

Mate of mine has done exactly that a couple of times, using the setup off a metro turbo as its on 1.75" su carbs, not so easy on yours now you have fucked around with putting it on that shitty yank carb though instead of proper british ones like it deserves

When turbo'd, they make SO much torque lower down, but they die on their arse at higher rpm as they just cant breathe well enough on the stock head/cams

Would be perfect for Eric though!

yes mate

he bought a 90, then a new chassis (logical) then the next step was the engine, not cos he needed it, just cos he wanted to :P

Be cool when its done tho!

That looks lovely Steve. What power does it make?

Sorry about the curly fries. I took as much rubbish out after our roadtrip as I could see. What else do you do for 7 hours in a truck though apart from eat fast food, yorkies and drink coffee?? I was close to starting on the B&H you left in there at one point!!!

Truck was cool though. Perfect for the job we had to get done and it drives and tows really nice too. Thanks!!!

The flashing lights were very cool! Our favourite part! Tried the CB too but could not work out how to switch it on.

Stu

Lee, get some pictures up of the EVO 2 build before I start EVO 3 this weekend!!!
