True guys but the Recaro is a full bore GT seat and is a little overkill for the road. Even though i love driving with it on the road.
Fact of the matter is i cant afford to buy another Recaro, theyre crazy money new and like rocking horse poo SH.
Basically i can swap the Recaro for a pair of the Sparcos and still get money in my pocket. So thats whats swaying me. If my car was an all out race car then i would keep the Recaro as a no brainer. But its a road car that i take to the track.
So its a tough call. Thanks for all your thoughts anyway

Well guys, the Recaro is off to a new home soon. I hope its new owner loves it the way i do. I collected a pair of Prodrive Sparcos today. Theyre in very nice condition, the Passenger is stock Pro WRC in GRP weighing in at 7.9kg, the drivers one is a Pro WRC Carbon weighing 6.5kg.
I know i'll miss the Recaro like mad but i think these will look awesome in the Prodrive edition whip

Look great. How come there's a GRP and carbon rather than a matching pair? Did the seller have both and did a deal or are they from different sources & you weren't too fussed about them both being grp or carbon?
Look very smart though. Would you consider getting the grp one vinyl wrapped in carbon to match looks-wise?

I think id rather have them both wrapped in gloss black if i was really worried about them being odd. I think the carbon wrap looks tacky and isnt really my thing.
You can probably tell im not too fussed about the odd look anyway. Did you see my last seat? Haha

Yeh, I saw your last seat - but that was special so understandable only having one. I think I'd possibly go for the matt black as well if I was going to match them up, but thought you'd go for the carbon seeing as one was a gen item. Mind you, that would mean covering the stickers and possbily losing them - unless you laminated or clear-coated them to protect from the sticky vinyl. People probably wouldn't notice once fitted seeing as it is just the seat backs.

Just doing the odd custom part for Imprezas at the mo fella.
Im always making custom parts on my car and am constantly bombarded with emails and PMs to either fit parts for people or make custom parts for people. Mainly this is the subaru guys but being an ex cossie owner im not shy around a Ford.
So jusy make the odd bit here and there to help fund my own build, its not a business. Just a bit of fun for me really

Finally found some time today to actually fit my own wingsert.
All cut areas paited with some black smoothrite. Then the wingsert was bonded in with black adhesive and OEM fixing points. I added 2 lower fixings too using some black plastic trim clips. Its fits nice and looks OEM.
Much nicer than the picture shows to be honest, but its hard to get an idea in these low light conditions.
Some new OMP subframes arrived today for the new seats too so i may have a play with these tomorrow.

Had a little cry tonight as the Recaro finally came out for its new owner. Droped the pair of Prodrives in on their new frames and loose assembled them in before i lost the light.
They look nice and are comfortable, so far so good. Pics to follow once i have some daylight

Pics as promised.
Sorry for the photos, flash plays havoc with low light and dark objects. They look nice in the flesh and feel quite comfy. Only a journey will tell lol.
New steering wheel setup should be here in the coming weeks. These jobs are just tiding me over at the mo till i can get the final bits to drop the motor back in. ("tick tock" "tick tock" lol)

Always the way with composite stuff fella. Unless you pay intergalatic money the fit and finish is almost always shocking.
What about going for a GT series turbo with a billet wheel. You could get a small one like a GT3071 and with the new Blouch billet wheels are cracking over 520bhp. That would spool like crazy and still give you good peak power. The Garrett GTX wheels are proving pretty rubish from the latest test ive seen but the Blouch wheels are awesome. These are available from Scooby Clinic here in the UK. Kev the owner of SC competes in TA anyway.
Best of luck with the build mate, but id go for less power and more reliability in your situation. The chassis worked well last year, and so did you pedaling it.
Reliability is number one in TA mate, best of luck.

i was hopeing they'd be a good fit as they are ex thunder saloon doors,
to be honest i wouldn't know about the turbos to be honest, i've been told to do the 38 so thats what i do lol
as for the power it should be 430ish with same torque so nothing mad and it will be reliable
and i am hopeing it will be down to a tonne to, as long as i lose my belly

Reliable 430bhp per tonne would be hugely fast on track Ron.
I would seriously investigate the turbos mentioned though chap. More power with quicker spool means more torque and awesome response where you need it.
Lol @ the belly, these Sparcos are nowhere near as snug as my Recaro lol.

Just like to say a huge thank you to Simon Roe (Jolly Green Monster).
Simon went out of his way today to drop off my MAP and air temp sensors to me today. These will support the Syvecs ECU and gives me time to get them fitted neatly before mapping commenses.
Many thanks for the support Simon

Lets face it, we all like photos. So finally some stuff to show you all.
Got my modified boost pipes back. And also got a nice little boss turned up for the Syvecs air temp sensor. I wanted to see wher was best to fit this once its was all mocked up. So now that can be TIG'd in place and then teh pipes can go for powdercoat.
Alyn at AS Performance came up trumps yet again with a new dipstick tube (lost the other one... dont ask) and also a new throttle body gasket.
Also my steering setup arrived from Works Bell in Japan. This consists of a billet ally boss, forged Rapfix quick release and also a larger paddle.
Momo wheel should be here next week to complement these bits. Really am very impressed with the quality of the Works Bell gear. Its beautifully made and i cant wait to see it fitted

Yeah Beef, speak to Kevin Horsley at Scoobyclinic and tell him Frayz from Scoobynet sent you. He will sort you out. Theyre awesome!
For example, ones making 700bhp on a 2.3ltr impreza on vpower and 750 on race gas. All from a 35R!!!

Intake manifold has been sent for powdercoat as i was never quite happy with the durability of the VHT painted item. It was far too easy to mark and damage.
Some of the boost pipes have been dropped in for powdercoat too. I say some as the last 2 will be built on the car when the motor is in as its far simpler and then i know it will be 100% right. Boost pipes are going to be a textured satin black.
Getting excited now
