I can see your point as well there is only so much you can spend on a car & when it breaks & breaks you just get fed up.

Agreed, no point rushing into things before you have REALLY decided, make a decision and if you still feel the same a few weeks later THEN post up about it, not rush into breaking it.

I think you are breaking it for the wrong reasons but I still think its for the best!

you won't regret it....

Although you could free up some decent cash down-specing it massively and still keep the car...

Dave, final decision is your obviously, i know you've said it's not a money thing, BUT how about going back to a gt30 ot even a RB T38 setup?? less stuff would break at these power levels and i remember you saying to me once via PM when i asked you about T38s how you enjoyed the car with this set-up...

DON'T rush in matey..............

I totally see where you are coming from on this one Dave, altho its a real shame and i know you and Helen have been through alot with Yum, but sometimes you have to move forward, and i personally think you are doing the right thing IMO.

YOU CANNOT BE SERIOUS!!! DON'T DO IT

Chuck a cover over it, and leave it in the garage over the winter, re-assess next year. I bet you WILL regret it. I can't believe Helen would let you.

I obviously don't know the circumstances, but don't do anything in haste that you could regret

Nothing has happened with MAD

I think he means it was a joint venture with him and Helen, so if either of them's heart is not quite in the car as much anymore, its not fair if the other one wants to continue etc.

as I said.... WRONG reasons.

GOOD decision

Or... why not de spec...

Sell the AIM dash
Suspension and beam
Exhaust manifold
MIS Inlet Manifold
Autronics and loom.
GT40
Front Diff...
(Exuast and Fuel tank maybe)

NICE few quid there!!!

Get Martin to build you an engine like my old one and get it on 3.9 gearing. You will have reliable 530-550bhp which won't do 200mph... but its MORE than enough to have ALOT of fun with!

You have alot going on right now and You might need YUM to cheer you up!

Martin REALLY doesn't fuck about mate. He would have you back on the road in weeks I bet and enjoying the car!

This thread is gay

Just lock it Dave (you can do it in thread tools at the top of the page) and take some time out to think properly about it

what does that solve?

Its not going to fix itself or become less of a money pit... unless that cover is 'magical!'

He will still have an expensive broken car.. and a load of money tied up in it doing nothing.

that money could be used else where or invested... or ENJOYED by buying a nice car to use everyday.

That is true. But from what I gather the money or getting it fixed isn't the issue. Although I reckon a lot of money could be made from a 'magical' cover!

Wont 'solve' anything, just give him a bit of time to reflect, rather than sell in haste and possibly regret, your an intellegent fella, SURELY you must've realised thats what I meant

Oh well none of our business really, his car his decision, good luck in whatever you do

if your mind is made up Dave then sell it...........but if there is ANY slight doubt in your mind what is for the best then keep a hold of her and re-evaluate what you want from the car.

In my opinion, going for 200mph is all well and good but not the most fun. Down tune the car to about 450/500bhp and track her. Nobody will think that you failed in your 200mph quest as what you and the car achieved was still MEGA. You could have soooooo much more fun in her on track!!!!
