Dave,
Have you got any pictures of the block number, so we can see what batch it came from?

Also, what piston rings are being used, as there are some marks on number 1 that looks as though the rings have picked up on the bore. I only ask, as they look like standard Mahle pistons and the Nikasil liners need a special type of ring suitable to run with these liners ?

Did you retain the head gasket at all, as it would be intersting to see this as well, to see what damage this sustained.

What are you going to do with the block?

Pleased you not giving up on the car mate.

As a thought to a post you made earlier in the year about selling up/breaking and buying an Evo, is it not worth building the engine to a more "normal" spec, which would still provide you with fun and driveability, but would make it more sellable as a complete car to someone when the time comes to let it go? Just a thought so tell me to piss off if you like

Either way, hope to see it back together again soon

I am building up a cossie YB glass cased coffie table! I have a crank head cams etc I need a block and this one with its history would be great! Perhaps when you have finished with it I could pay to have it picked up and drop you some beer money also??

Cheeky bastid I know, but if you don't ask you don't get!

Good luck with the rebuild either way!
